Glenn Beck - Melissa Harris-Perry Said Nothing Wrong

As everyone must know by now, Melissa Harris-Perry (MHP) made a fool out of herself again.  It wasn't enough for her to make a fool out of herself with the tampon earrings to protest the Texas abortion bill.  Like all the morons at MSNBC, she has to continually try to outdo herself.  Of course, she never dreamed mocking the black grandchild of Mitt Romney would come back to almost destroy her career (and the debate on that is not over).  To her credit, MHP did make, what appeared to be, a heart-felt, tearful apology for her actions.  None of the rest of the panelists in that infamous panel discussion did so.

The Right Commentary - First Post

Hello!  I want to welcome you to the first post of a new blog, "The Right Commentary."

The parent blog of The Right Commentary is David's Musings.   Now, I did political commentary on David's Musings for the past three years.  But, since I reopened that blog, I prefer to focus on the lighter side of things, some amusing, some not so amusing.  This blog will focus on politics in the United States of America.  These are turbulent times in which we live.  Unemployment is at a staggering 9.1%, the economy is sinking again, Wall St. is up and down with more downs than ups.  Liberals like to lay the blame at the feet of former President George W. Bush.  No doubt, he shares some blame.

The Santa Claus Syndrome

Well, its been over a week since the Presidential election and I just now can speak about it.  It was a major disappointment to me, of course.  I thought the ideas of hard work, giving Americans tools to become successful, getting government off the backs of businesses would be a winning message for Mitt Romney.  Unfortunately, it was not.  President Obama did not win due to a winning message.  He won on negative attacks on Mitt Romney and deflection on his four-year record of high unemployment, out of control spending, massive debt and scandals such as Fast and Furious and, of course, Benghazi attack on our embassy.  None of that mattered to the Obama Zombies who only care about one thing; what can the government give to me.  It's a frightening prospect to consider that Americans no longer think they can survive on their own.  They now need the federal government to take care of them.  This is not the America of Jefferson, Adams and Washington.  No, this is now the America of Reid, Pelosi and Obama.

Much has been made of the impact of the Hispanic vote in this election.  No doubt they did have an impact.  But, what lost the election for Romney is that the core that he thought would win for him, blue collar workers and evangelicals, stayed home for the most part.  That is inexplicable to me.  I know people did not trust Romney.  But, he is a helluva lot better than the empty suit we have in office now.  Hispanics and African-Americans swarmed the Democratic ticket due to the "goodies" that they have been promised by the Democratic Party.  Let the Democratic Party continue to prostitute itself to voting blocs. They do this with promises of "goodies." Eventually, this will come back to bite them on the ass.

Regardless of what the Democrats do, we have to stand up for the rule of law in regard to reckless illegal immigration. We sink or swim by standing by our principles. Do we compromise everything we stand for in order to accommodate a group? When does it end? What if Hispanics, after receiving amnesty, suddenly decide they should be exempt from paying taxes for X number of years? What if Blacks decide they want reparations? Where does it end? It would never end. This is why I say the Democrats are on a slippery slope. We don't need to join them. If we can't stand on the rule of law, what do we stand for? Not much. We're Democrats-lite. If the Republican Party wants to lose the conservative base, just continue the hysterics over Hispanics. While we do have a problem getting our message across to Hispanics. the Democrats are having a problem getting that across to the largest sector of the electorate; whites. They garnered less than 40% this time. Think what they will do to them in the mid-term election.

As Rush Limbaugh said, "In a nation of children, Santa Claus wins."  That is what we saw on November 6th.  The Democratic Party's voting blocs delivered for them because they will get gifts for being good boys and girls.   This is what is so disheartening to me.  Our electorate is now voting based on what the government will do for them.  The government will give Hispanics amnesty.  The government will continue to give Blacks food stamps and welfare, thereby continuing generational poverty.  This nation is on the verge of economic collapse and all we are concerned about is what can Uncle Sam do for us.  Santa Claus must be proud of all the good boys and girls with their hands out.  We are not the nation of which President John F. Kennedy spoke when he said, "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country."  We are the children on Christmas Day opening our gifts to see what Uncle Sam has for us.

Decision Time for Americans

November 6, 2012.  The Presidential Election which is probably the most important in American history.  The choices couldn't be more stark.  On one hand, you have the most radical Left-wing President in Barack Obama this nation has ever elected.  He has no interest in meeting in the middle on any issue.  It's his way or the highway.  He is partisan, he is stubborn and he is arrogant.  President Obama has an ego so big that his ego even has an ego (kudos to Greg Gutfield).  President Obama has never been able to accept criticism.  Unlike former President Bush, Obama absorbs criticism and feels he must automatically respond to it.  I have always gotten the impression President Obama has never understood the enormity of the Office of the President of the United States.  A case in point was his comment on his old friend being arrested and Obama commenting "The police acted stupidly."   Most Presidents grow into the job.  President Obama never has and, hopefully, will not get a chance to do that in the next four years.

Mitt Romney is not the perfect Republican Presidential candidate. He has vacillated on issues over the years from abortion to illegal immigration to health care.  But, Mitt Romney is infinitely better than President Obama.  Obama and his Democratic Progressive branch will continue to spend until this nation falls over the proverbial fiscal cliff (which is not far off now).  The out of control spending has to be stopped.  The only way to do that is to elect Mitt Romney as President.  My vote for Mitt Romney is not so much because I like him.  My vote is due to wanting Obama out of office as soon as possible.  President Obama came into office with tremendous problems facing him.  However, instead of making them better, President Obama has made them worse. The economy is in shambles. Unemployment is still completely unacceptable.  Our drop in AAA rating is a danger sign that doesn't get enough attention.  He has proven tentative on foreign policy with Benghazi being the latest disaster.  You can point to Osama bin Laden all you want.  But, the fact remains there are four dead Americans, including the U.S. Ambassador, in Libya. Obama is more concerned with his position in the world rather than in the USA.

I hope those of you who read this post will join with me in voting for Mitt Romney.  We must shift away from a nation of dependents and back to a nation of independents.  Americans have always been known for their "can do" spirit to get things done.  The world is waiting for us to return to predominance, to lead once again.  President Obama is not the answer.  President Romney is the only choice.

Presidential Tracking Polls: Who's Right?

The latest daily tracking polls have been all over the place since the Democratic National Convention.  The New York Times/CBS poll had President Obama leading in some key swing states.  In Ohio and Florida, Obama is leading Romney 53-43 and 53-44 in Ohio and Florida respectively.  Romney simply can't afford to lose Ohio and have any hope of winning the Presidency. Nationally, Obama leads Romney from anywhere from 10 to 2 percent, depending on what poll you tend to believe.  That is the rub.  Who do you believe?  Take for example the New York Times/CBS poll.  Does anyone really believe those two are unbiased in their polling when it comes to Republicans?   Republicans have reason to take with a large grain of salt anything that comes from the MSM.

The mainstream media is anything but unbiased, contrary to their protestations otherwise. I recognize the party that is losing always questions polling.  I accept that. However, there has never been a president in which the MSM has put so much of their time, effort and credibility (what's left of it anyway) into assuring President Obama is reelected.  There is real fear how impartial the moderators will be in the presidential debates.  This is nothing new for Republicans.  The reason they (we) are screaming now is that there is so much fear of an Obama reelection and what that means for this nation.  The Obama Zombies don't care what happens to this country as long as they continue to get their "free government handouts."  Beating an incumbent president is difficult enough without help from outside influences.

The only thing that gives me hope is Gallup and Rasmussen, particularly the latter of the two.  Rasmussen has come within .5% in the last two presidential elections in predicting the outcome.  Right now, Rasmussen has Obama leading Romney by 2% and Gallup has Obama by 4%.  In fact, every poll has Obama leading.  So, it's hard to argue all polls are corrupt.  It all boils down to the debates for Romney.  It didn't have to be this way.  Obama's Achilles heel has been the economy and unemployment above 8%.  So, what has Romney being doing?  Defending himself over silly attacks on Bain Capital and other attack ads from the Obama campaign.  It is a strategy that has worked for Obama.  Take the focus off the moribund economy and the 15-20 million unemployed and keep the focus on Romney.  It has worked.  The electorate has suddenly been struck blind of Obama's faults if we are to believe the polls.  I do believe the polls will tighten up as the election draws near, especially if things in the Middle East continue to spiral out of control, a purported coverup in the U.S. Ambassador's death in Libya, etc.  Barring that, I see another four years of unemployment above 8%, an economy doing a "Take Two" insofar as a recession and more out of control spending, courtesy of the man who will get to keep his job, President Obama.

Mitt Romney's Republican Convention

The shortened Republican Convention in Tampa, Florida will be a big test for Republican Presidential nominee, Mitt Romney.  Most polls show a dead heat between he and President Obama.  Mitt Romney will have a prime time audience to plead his case.  The accusations against him, from the banshees in the Democratic Party, are about Bain Capital, stupid remarks of Missour's Todd Akin, Romney's birther comment and the accusation that Mitt Romney is a "murderer."  If that sounds like desperation, it's only because they are desperate.  Obama and his cronies have never had to fight in a campagin before.  Starting with his state senate seat to U.S. Senator to President of the United States, Obama has never had to fight this hard in a campaign.  And it is showing as the Obama Campaign is starting to become unraveled with these outlandish remarks.  Regardless, if Romney will focus on the economy, unemployment and present his plans, he can get a huge bump in the polls.  All Obama can counter with is the typical "tax the rich" mantra.  Americans are tired of the constant attacks by Obama.  He has yet to present a reason why he should be reelected.  Oh, sure, he'll say "We can't go back to those Republican policies that got us where we are today" BS.  The only thing about that is Obama, while promising to make things better, has made things worse.

So, Mitt Romney needs to stay positive in his acceptance speech at the Republican Convention.  He needs to take a "morning in America" approach that President Reagan did when he was campaigning against an Obama clone named Jimmy Carter.  Romney needs to lay out his plan in general terms to get this country back to work.  He doesn't have to go into specifics that would cause the audience to tune out.  Mitt Romney needs to reassure the American people that the failed policies of President Obama can be overcome.  He needs to tell them the failed ideology of Socialism will not work in a traditional Capitalist country.  Probably the biggest thing for Mitt Romney is that he needs to be affable, laid back in his speech.  That would help in dispelling his stiff, aloof persona.  This will be the biggest speech in Romney's career.  Governor Romney, most of all, must help assure a troubled and skeptical audience there can be a better future.  Mitt Romney must convince Americans it is ok to let go of "amateur hour" in the Oval Office now.  It's time to put the adults back in the room to stop the wasteful Democratic spending that is about to destroy this country.

Obama's Politics of Fear

I guess I could have just as easily made the title "Fear of Politics" which would include both political parties, both political ideologies.  But, it seems the Left has a patent on fear-mongering.  For example, no sooner had Mitt Romney named Paul Ryan as his Republican Vice-Presidential candidate then the Obama Zombie attacks come out in full bloom.  Of course, if you listen to the Democrats, Paul Ryan is going to push granny right off the cliff into oblivion.  Then there were attacks that stated Paul Ryan would cut funding from Medicare!  First, just to show how preposterous this is, Paul Ryan is not at the top of the ticket.  Mitt Romney is the Republican Presidential candidate, not Paul Ryan.  Mitt Romney has not bought completely into Ryan's budget cuts.  Secondly, let's name the ONLY president to cut funding from Medicare.  Take your time.  Give up?  None other than the saintly and blessed PRESIDENT OBAMA and his Socialist lackeys cut over $700 billion from Medicare to help fund Obamacare (which, by last count, is going to cost over twice that amount).  Let me state that once again.  PRESIDENT OBAMA AND HIS SOCIALIST LACKEYS CUT OVER $700 BILLION FROM MEDICARE TO HELP FUND OBAMACARE.   You will never see that in the press who are 100% behind the Leftist politics of the Democratic Party.

Goofy Joe Biden, alleged Vice-President of the United States, stated yesterday that "They're (Republicans) are going to put y'all back in chains" in referencing Mitt Romney's comments to unchain Wall St. from the clutches of the Democratic Leftists.  This is the kind of rhetoric that the Romney campaign is going to face in the months leading to the Presidential Election.  God forbid that the focus turns to the "private sector economy that is doing fine" or "unemployment that is now in it's record 41st month above 8%".   No, the Democrats know they can't win on the two big issues that concern Americans most.  Instead, they have to focus on the negative tactics of politics.  The mudslinging and personal attacks (such as calling Romney a "murderer") are only going to get worse.

This is the first election Obama has ever been involved in which he has had to actually work to try and win.  They are going to increase the politics of fear with the polls showing that Paul Ryan is actually helping Romney, not hurting him.  The Obama campaign is like a cornered fox, striking and hissing out in every direction.  They will sling mud in the hopes that something will stick.  This is the only campaign strategy the Obama Zombies have right now.  However, after Labor Day, when the campaign really kicks in, the Democrats will have no choice but to respond to the attacks that are surely coming their way on the economy from Republicans.  It will be interesting to see the Democratic response at that time.  No doubt, the response will be more of the same of political fear-mongering because, once again, that is all the Democrats have in their arsenal.

Harry Reid - Out of Control

I've made several posts about the Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid, on The Right Commentary.  I've written about his insanities, his blunt, uncouth statements and his flat out lies.  He never ceases to amaze me.  If Clint Eastwood was Dirty Harry, Senator Reid is "Sleazy Harry."  Sleazy Harry stated, "The word's out that he hasn't paid any taxes for 10 years," Reid said of Romney on the Senate floor Thursday. "Let him prove that he has paid taxes, because he hasn't."  Of course, Reid could not or would not reveal his sources on this statement.  He wouldn't because that would reveal he is a damn liar, which is what everyone in D.C. knows.  Of course, Sleazy Harry's equally dumb sister, Nancy Pelosi, backed up Reid's assertions, again, without an iota of proof.  Senator Reid sullied the position he supposedly stands for by making such a blatant lie while giving a speech on the floor of the Senate.  It was a disgraceful action.  Equally disgraceful are the Democrats who are not condemning Reid for making another provocative statement without any proof.  It is disgusting.  But, this is the day of the Obama Democrats.  The ends justifies the means.  Nothing is out of bounds in meeting their goals of their Socialist agenda.

This statement by Reid is for a specific reason; to keep Romney on the defensive and focus off the moribund economy.  Democrats would love to get their hands on Romney's tax returns to use against him in the campaign.  Romney isn't that much of a fool, I hope.  But, what bothers me most is that Romney is falling right into their trap.  The best thing to do is let his subordinates come out swinging.  President Obama and his Socialist cabal will leave no stone unturned in their attempt to continue the USA on it's current leftward trend.  Lies and damn lies are the order of the day in the Democratic Party.  But, you know what is really bad news for the Democrats?  The American people don't give a damn about Romney's tax returns.  The American people are focused on a pathetic "recovering economy" and unemployment above 8% for a record 41 months in a row.  Reid, Pelosi and Obama can continue their crusade for Romney's tax returns until the cows come home.  That's all they have to fight with today.  Obama can't go on his record.  So, making up lies, as Sleazy Harry did, is the only thing they have left to fight with against the Republicans.

Obama Reelection In Trouble?

It appears that President Obama may not have as easy a road to reelection as many had thought.  The thinking was that Republican Mitt Romney would be the candidate the Obama campaign did not want to run against.  But, Democrats still thought Obama would breeze to reelection in 2012.  Recent polling shows President Obama was running ten points behind Mitt Romney with independent voters.  That is a crucial voting bloc as liberal and conservative lines are entrenched.  Another bloc of voters thought to be in line with President Obama were women.  The so-called Democrat inspired "War on Women" fizzled out with Americans understanding that the entire episode began and ended with liberal activist Susan Fluke.  She was found not to be credible when it was discovered she was and is a liberal operative of the Democratic Party.  President Obama's latest political maneuver of supporting Gay Marriage has not produced the results he had hoped.  Many African-Americans are steadfastly against Gay Marriage.  I'm not saying Obama will lose a large percentage of the black vote.  But, it did not help him as he had once hoped.

The Obama campaign can claim these polls are all "biased" as they claim the New York Times poll is purported to be.  That is a shocking statement about a newspaper that many conservatives consider to be on par with Pravda of the old Soviet Union.  The NY Times has always had a liberal vein and always will.  But, when the NY Times claims that Romney has suddenly caught and passed Obama with women, then that does get your attention.  The "War on Women" Hail Mary backfired on the Obama campaign in a big way.  There's a long way to go in this election year, of course.  But, for people who thought President Obama was a slam dunk for reelection had best reevaluate their opinion.  Your horse is in trouble.

Santorum Needs To Step Aside

To use a euphemism popular since the 70s, Rick Santorum has "jumped the shark."  Rick Santorum said (and this is a direct quote), “If they’re going to be a little different, we might as well stay with what we have instead of taking a risk of what may be the Etch A Sketch candidate for the future.”  Basically, Rick Santorum was saying that Republicans should give President Obama another term if he (Santorum) is not the Republican nominee.  That, my friends, is one of the most outrageous things I have ever heard a candidate,  for either party, ever say.  To suggest that Republicans should vote for the most radical Left-wing President in U.S. history, if he isn't the Republican nominee, is both reckless and petty.  Ok, it is also childish as hell. It's like the kid that owns the baseball at a sandlot game.  Either I'm the pitcher or I take my baseball and go home.  I knew that Rick Santorum was bitter about the way the Illinois Primary went for him.  But, I never knew he was this self-consumed.  There are some things bigger than yourself and your own aspirations.  The main focus is beating President Barack Obama so he does not have a second term to finish destroying the United States of America.  Rick Santorum has made it clear he doesn't care about the main Republican goal.  The only goal that counts is Rick Santorum as Republican nominee.  Everything else is just "clutter" to this man-child.

I want to make it clear that Mitt Romney was not my first choice for the Republican nomination.  But, compared to Barack Obama, there is no other choice, in my opinion.  Sure, Romney is a moderate and wishy-washy.  But, what can you say about Rick Santorum now?  He is a man that places his own best interests above those of the American people.  The best interest of the American people is to have President Obama known after November as "former President Obama."  But, Rick Santorum now thinks having an Obama second-term is what Republicans should consider if he is not the Republican nominee.    This statement by Rick Santorum is inexcusable.  Nothing he says will make up for this ridiculous comment concerning Obama over Mitt Romney.  I consider this statement even more strange coming from a man who paints himself as the "only true, viable conservative Republican" in the race.  One has to consider now if that is just mere hyperbole by a man who has seen his dream vanish before his eyes.  Ironically, it was Rick Santorum that put the finishing touches of ending that dream.  Rick Santorum is done.

Newt Gingrich: The Bitterness Campaign

Newt, we hardly knew ye.  You came into the campaign castigating Congressman Paul Ryan's deficit reduction plan as "right-wing  social engineering."  Then, realizing you had revealed your "left flank," tried to cover up by saying you didn't say it.  Funny thing about the 21st century; we have this new fangled entity called "cameras" that record everything a politician can say or do.  I realize lying is standard procedure for politicians.  But, lying a second time to cover up makes matters worse.  So, you basically disappeared for quite some time.  You made a comeback of sorts in the polls, if not the ballot box.  You tried to establish yourself as the "conservative candidate."  Making a case for illegal aliens didn't exactly endear you to a lot of the Republican base, namely the conservatives.  But, you were trying to stand out in the crowd.  You eventually got too full of yourself.  You were openly boasting you would be the Republican nominee.  One thing about a person with a big ego; it usually turns around and bites them on the butt.  It's fine and dandy to have self-confidence.  But, for the most part, people don't like a braggart.  A lot of your problems are self-inflicted.  Sadly, you can't seem to realize that.

Now that you are only a token candidate, you are lashing out at others for your misfortune.  The bitterness campaign is in full swing for you. The point of your anger is, of course, Mitt Romney.  Remember when you were determined not to go negative?  That was a strategic mistake on your part.  I am doubtful your campaign manager advised you to be "above it all."  This really sounds like the Newt we have always loved and hated over the years.  You are taking negativity to new heights (or lows perhaps) with your acidic attacks on Romney.  You make an acerbic remark about Romney being a  weak frontrunner that finishes third in MS and AL.  Romney dishes it right back by saying, "What does that say about Newt Gingrich?"  You countered with a feeble effort.  You know it's all over now.  But, you are going to hang on in an attempt to hurt Mitt Romney.  Who are you really hurting?  You are hurting Rick Santorum.  Both you and Santorum are splitting the conservative vote.  Romney is laughing all the way to the nomination.  Even with the loss of AL and MS, Romney did well enough in both states to widen his lead on you and Santorum.  Republicans are screaming for you to get out of the race now.  Alas, hell hath no fury like a politician scorned, eh Newt?  You'll stay in to the bitter end.  In doing so, you are at long last writing the epitaph on your political career.  "Here lies Newt Gingrich.  A bitter politician to the bitter end."

AL and MS Republican Primaries

As I type this up, on Republican Primary Day in Mississippi and Alabama, the campaigns of Rick Santorum and Mitt Romney are in full swing around my city (Mobile, AL).  I went to vote Tuesday morning for a host of Republican candidates for both state and local offices and for U.S. Congressman.  I also voted for my choice of Republican Presidential candidate.  I voted for Mitt Romney.  He is far from being the perfect choice.  In fact, in time, I may come to regret that vote if Romney is elected and becomes George W. Bush 2.0.  I would never forgive myself if that happens.  However, even a George W. Bush 2.0 is better than a Barack Obama 1.0 or any other version of President Obama.  Yes, I selected the lesser of four evils Tuesday morning in the Republican Primary here in Alabama.  The local news channels said voting was light.  But, it sure as hell wasn't at my precinct.  I had to get in line to wait for at least 30 minutes.  Other precincts were much lighter than mine.

Polls have shown that it has been a virtual deadlock between Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum (who was in my city last week on a campaign stop) and Mitt Romney in both Alabama and Mississippi.  I have a sneaking suspicion that Newt Gingrich is going to finish second in both states.  Nothing I can base that on.  Just a feeling.  I think his time has passed by.  On the other hand, if Mitt Romney wins one state and finishes a strong second in the other, this will put immense pressure on both Santorum and Gingrich who continues to insist he will stay in the race regardless of outcome.  If the money runs out, Newt will have no choice but to bow out.  To a lesser extent, that could also be the case for Rick Santorum.  He is not running as well as he would have liked.  Mitt Romney is showing surprising strength in both states.  Romney was not expected to be competitive in Alabama and Mississippi.  He was within a couple of point of Newt Gingrich in MS and virtually tied with Gingrich in AL.  If Romney somehow pulls off an amazing upset and wins both states, there will be little reason for both Gingrich and Santorum to remain in the race.  In fact, you will see their Republican contributors start to abandon them.  It is about time to rally around Romney, warts and all.

UPDATE:  Well, how wrong can I be?  Still, Romney did well in two states that he did not expect to do well at all.  This long GOP nomination process continues.

Sandra Fluke - A Liberal Proxy

Remember a couple of months back during one of those seemingly endless debates when George  Stephanopoulos asked Mitt Romney a question about banning contraceptives for women?  Most people thought that was a very strange question at the time.  This is especially true since the debate had centered mostly on the economy.  This question just came out of the blue from George Stephanopoulos.  Or so we thought at the time.  Everyone realizes that Georgie is a hitman for the Democratic Party.  That is just one example of the bias Republicans must contend with during a campaign for President.  It is becoming increasingly apparent that was a precursor of an elaborate Democratic strategy to offset the potential of a brouhaha with the Catholic church over mandatory payment of contraceptives for women.   The Obama Administration and the DNC were planning for this potential fight with the Catholic church.  The strategy was to make it appear that Republicans do not want women to have contraceptives.  It is an attempt to make it appear that Republicans want to ban contraceptives.  Period.  What the Democrats did not expect is the ferocity of this ongoing fight with the Catholic church and others who support them.  This was a serious miscalculation by the Democrats.  They had to do something and do it quickly.

Enter Sandra Fluke, a 30 year old law student (just how long has she been going to school?) at Georgetown.  She suddenly has become the point woman for the Democratic Party in its battle with the Catholic church on the issue of free contraceptives for women.  Sandra Fluke says she needs $3,000 a year to pay for contraceptives. Just how much sex is this homely looking 30 year old law student having? $3K a year for contraceptives?  That is preposterous.  No one is going to believe that.  Well, except if you are a Leftist who will accept anything as long as the taxpayers are footing the bill.  Something else I found puzzling;  who is footing the bill for all these trips (eight at last count) this Georgetown law student is taking to appear on national TV?  Seems I have found an answer.  Reports are that Sandra Fluke is being represented by the PR agency SKDKnickerbocker.  Guess who is the managing editor for this firm?  The infamous Anita Dunn, the former White House Communications Director.  Something that makes you go hmmmmm.  There can be no doubt now.  This is all a contrived and orchestrated event by liberals to have a proxy, in Sandra Fluke, to do their  bidding on an issue that is hurting President Obama.  This is a self-inflicted wound by the Democrats.  As always, they overreach.  They certainly did in this case. But, it is patently obvious this is not about contraceptives for women.  This is a freedom of religion issue.  The Democrats are in serious trouble now.

You won't see the MSM report anything about Anita Dunn being the force behind Sandra Fluke.  They are "all in" for President Obama and the Democratic Party.  But, it does show to what depths the Democrats will go to protect Obama.  This issue will not go away.  The Catholic church is going to see to that.  How does President Obama and the Democratic Party get out of a mess they created themselves?  I have no idea.  But, I do know that the longer this contraceptive issue lingers (and the questions about Sandra Fluke's biased involvement), the more it will hurt the Democratic Party as we march toward the 2012 elections.

Democrats Voting for Santorum in Michigan

You know that old saying, be careful of what you wish for?  You may get it?  Yeah, that one.  There is a chance Democrats will learn that old saying the hard way if current Rasmussen polling stays true.  It is no secret that Democrats (and Obama himself) are hoping Rick Santorum wins the Republican Presidential nomination.  They hope that because they view Santorum as an easier opponent than the more moderate Mitt Romney.  In fact, Democrats cross voted (this post is being typed up prior to Tuesday Michigan Primary results) in an effort to help President Obama.  Even the much despised Michael Moore is pushing for Democrats in Michigan (Moore's home state) to go to the polls to vote for Rick Santorum.  This has been the little backdoor trick played by Democrats this campaign year.  Of course, Republicans have done the same to Democrats in years past.  So, turnabout being fair play, it is the Democrats time to return the favor.  But, can you imagine the gnashing of teeth if by some quirk of fate Santorum,as the Republican nominee, beats Obama?  That would give pause to both Democrats and Republicans when it comes to the time treasured activity of crossover voting in the primary process.

Right now, that Rasmussen Poll shows a Romney-Obama battle tied at 44%.  A Santorum-Obama battle shows Obama with a 3% lead at 46-43%, which is the exact margin of error on this poll (3%).  This is not something that Democrats expected.  Obviously, if Rick Santorum was within 5 % of Obama, none of the Democrats would be so eager to crossover vote in Michigan and other states that allow crossover voting between Democrats and Republicans (I don't like crossover voting, but that is an entirely different issue).  Now, these polls with Rasmussen, PPP, Gallup and others will fluctuate quite a bit over the next few months.  That 3% Obama lead on Santorum could expand greatly if the economy continues to improve.  But, the bad omen for Obama is the cost of a gallon of gas.  That will get you kicked out of office quicker than practically anything else in the USA.  Gas is causing everything to increase in price which is an inflation threat, not to mention it hurting employment figures.  The next few months will be interesting.  The Republicans fear their nominee (regardless of who it is) is no match for Obama even with all the baggage he carries.  But, stranger things have happened in politics.  You just have to be careful about what you wish for in U.S. politics.  You may get it.

ABO: Anybody But Obama

Just when you start thinking you can back Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum comes along and rocks the boat.  After his Florida win, I was almost positive that Mitt Romney was about to take the nomination at last.  He took Nevada easily.  So, I suspected Santorum would give him a tough go of it in Missouri, Colorado and another I forget at the moment.  That gave Rick Santorum a sweep of three states.  Not many people expected that.  I sure as hell didn't expect it.  Santorum is the social conservative in the Republican nomination process.  I'm not sure how that will play out in a national election when jobs and the economy are of the utmost importance to people right now.  Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum are in a dead heat statistically nationwide right now.  So, it is still anybody's race.  My fear is that President Obama will get Rick Santorum.  I may be wrong.  But, Obama would easily beat Rick Santorum.  Mitt Romney is the only one who can give Obama a run for his money according to polls right now.

But, it doesn't really matter if it is Rick Santorum, Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich or the Barber of Seville.    I will vote for ANYBODY BUT OBAMA.  I suspect I am far from being alone in that sentiment.  Sure, unemployment is improving.  But, for some reason, the news media refuses to delve into why it is improving.  You know, like people that have given up looking for a job, people who can't file unemployment claims because their funds have been exhausted.  Things like that.  If this were George W. Bush, you damn well better believe the news media would dissect these improving numbers apart.  But, Obama gets a pass.  It is the news media and Hollywood's infatuation that turns off a lot of people toward Obama.  He is the Messiah, The Anointed One.  He is also an abject failure as a president.  If you bleeding heart liberals would open your eyes, you would see Obama is a miserable failure also.  But, you are all Obama Zombies.  So, I suppose you can be excused.  But, the rest of us can make up our own minds.  Conservatives, moderates, and independents will determine this election.  If conservatives get out the vote, Obama can be beaten.  Even Rick Santorum can beat Obama in my opinion.  Obama has wrecked this economy despite the continual blame on "W."  People aren't buying that excuse any longer.

People are ready for a change.  This time true Hope and Change.  We do  not want the empty slogans of the Obama Cult this time.  It is time to break from the the Obama Great Socialist experiment.  It has failed.  Obamacare is falling apart thanks to lawsuits, Republican opposition, and the recent gift to Republicans, contraceptives on demand from churches.  Like so many people, I am tired of President Obama.  Anybody but Obama?  You damn right.  Even Hillary (gasp) Clinton if she was running for the Republican nomination at this point.

The Glitter Bomber

On Tuesday, of this week, Republican Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney was in Denver to give a speech at the University of Colorado-Denver campus.  What he did not expect was to be attacked by the so-called glitter bandit.  What this idiot did was throw glitter on Mitt Romney.  Apparently, "glitter bombing" has become the modus operandi of the far Left Gay Rights Activists.  Romney was not harmed.  But, Peter Smith, the glitter bomber in this incident, could face up to six months in jail for this act due to the fact Mr. Romney was under Secret Service protection.  It was noted afterward that Peter Smith is/was a member of the Democratic Party in Colorado.  I am hoping he was fired.  If glitter bombing is the best you can do to bring attention to your cause, then you have a lost cause.  Don't tell me this will stop when Gays get equal treatment under the law.  That is BS. This is about forcing an ideology on people who don't approve of their lifestyle.  People have the right to disapprove of what you do as long as they don't, oh I don't know, throw glitter on you. It's not enough to get marriage rights or equal billing in the military.  It's about forcing everyone, every man, woman and child, to accept your lifestyle as normal.

Here is a news flash for these lunatic fringe groups; any act that reaches another person's nose is an act of violence on that person.  It doesn't matter if it is glitter bombing, throwing flowers, blowing kisses or whatever.  You do not have the right to invade a person's private space as Peter Smith did with Mitt Romney.  Don't tell me this is not the norm for Gay Activists.  I've seen this and much worse from these groups.  But, it is groups such as the Tea Party, filled with nazi-like 80 year old great-grandmothers, that has network news in a tizzy.  No one worries about other lunatic groups like the Occupy Movement who, incidentally, were defecating on the lawn of where Mitt Romney was speaking Tuesday night.  This is the Progressive Movement finally making themselves known.

Love him or despise him, Glenn Beck said last year that the Progressives will make themselves known soon enough.  His prediction has come true.  Left-wingers have a long history of violence.  It only started last year with OWS.  It continues with Glitter Bombing from Gays who never know when enough is enough.  It may just be Glitter Bombing today.  Tomorrow?  Well, who knows?  Socialists consider anyone caught in their path as just "collateral damage."  The ends truly justifies the means with these people.  But, the question begs, what "means" will it take for these far Left fringe groups to reach the "end game?"  You want the answer?  Look at what OWS is doing today, look at what Gay Rights Leftists are doing today.  That is your answer.

I'm Leaning Toward Mitt Romney

As the subject title states, I am leaning toward Mitt Romney now.  I know he is known as the great "flip-flopper."  I know he has the albatross of "Romneycare" around his neck. I know he is known as a "moderate Republican" which runs counter to all that I believe the Republican Party should be.  I have several other issues with the former governor of Massachusetts.  At one time, prior to this year, there is no way I would have voted for Mitt Romney.  That was before Newt Gingrich came to the forefront of the Republican race for President.  Gingrich is thought of as a "conservative" in some circles. That is total, complete nonsense.  His declaration of Rep. Paul Ryan's budget deficit cuts as "right-wing social engineering" told me all I need to know about this man.  His backdoor amnesty plan for illegal aliens clinched it for me.  He is a big government Republican that we all hoped and prayed had gone the way of the dinosaur.

The more I learn about Ron Paul, the less I like him.  I would probably vote for Gingrich before I would this anti-Israel, anti-military, isolationist candidate.  Rick Santorum is making inroads in Iowa.  But, he simply doesn't have the drawing power to sustain any kind of momentum for long. Rick Perry may make a move. But, he's probably positioning himself for a future run now. Michelle Bachmann is finished and simply doesn't seem ro realize it.  So, why am I leaning toward Mitt Romney, you may ask?  Simply because he is the strongest candidate, the one who has the best chance at beating President Obama.  I know he is having difficulty getting past that 25% support level.  That will change after Iowa, one way or another.  Right now, Ron Paul and Mitt Romney are neck and neck in Iowa.  No one knows who will win that caucus.  If Romney wins Iowa and then wins New Hampshire (where he is heavily favored), the race is basically over.  The rest of the state contests will be simply window dressing.  So, Mitt Romney is my candidate for now.  Will he beat Obama?  I think he can as long as he doesn't make any big mistakes during the campaign. But, with the news media in President Obama's corner, that will be next to impossible for any Republican candidate.

Saturday Night Debate - Gingrich vs Romney

The exhibition games are over.  Now, the real debates begin. There is just a month to go before the Republican Primary season begins in Iowa. There have been so many Republican Presidential debates until I can't keep count of them.  But, tonight, the Iowa debate at Drake University in Iowa, is the first real debate between Romney and Gingrich since Newt became the front runner. Of course, the other Republican candidates will be there along with Ron Paul and Rick Perry.  But, this debate will probably focus on Gingrich and Romney.  The rise of Gingrich has been nothing short of amazing since he was in single digits just a month ago.  But, now, Gingrich has a double digit lead over Mitt Romney.  Romney just doesn't seem able to forge ahead of the 25% of support that has held steady since the first debate early this year. Newt Gingrich seems to be surging.  But, now, Mitt Romney will take the kid gloves off and go after Gingrich with all that baggage he carries into the Primary season.

Of course, Gingrich surging to the forefront is good news for the Obama campaign.  Newt Gingrich is their nominee of choice.  They really don't want to face the moderate Mitt Romney even with the albatross of Romneycare that Mr. Romney carries.  Gingrich will certainly go after Romney on that issue tonight.  In turn, Romney will go after Gingrich on his support of the individual mandate for national healthcare.  Both candidates have baggage.  It just appears that Newt Gingrich has more than Romney.  This will be the most interesting debate so far.  It will eclipse the bitter backbiting between Perry and Romney of the past couple of months.  Gingrich has tried to stay "above it all" during the more nasty mudslinging of prior debates.  I am willing to wager he won't be able to do it tonight.

Newt Gingrich Moves Up in Polls

In the latest Marist/McClatchy poll, Newt Gingrich has moved a head of embattled Herman Cain.  Mitt Romney still leads the way with 23%, Gingrich with 19% and Herman Cain with 17%.  It appears the sexual harassment charges are starting to plague the campaign of Mr. Cain, rightly or wrongly.  However, the New York Times/ CBS News show that Herman Cain still leads the Republican Presidential hopefuls.  Cain leads with 18% with Romney and Gingrich tied at 15%.  So, who do you believe?  I honestly don't trust anything to do with the NY Times or CBS.  The Marist/McClatchy poll I know absolutely nothing about.  But, both polls point to one thing; Newt Gingrich has now made it a three-way battle for the Republican nomination.

I must admit I am alarmed about Newt Gingrich's recent rise in the polls.  Newt is a globalist, pro-Amnesty for illegals, believes in the man-made Global Warming theory, opposed Paul Ryan's budget reforms (which tacked him to the Left with Obama), and then there is the baggage he brings.  Without going into great detail, Newt cheated on his wife while she lay dying with cancer.  Now, the story goes that he asked for a divorce while she was dying.  His supporters say it is just the opposite.  Democrats would bludgeon him with that little detail over and over again.  He is most definitely a RINO.  I see him in the same light as I do Herman Cain;  neither are electable.  Romney is the one Obama wants most because Romney is a moderate.  A Republican moderate rarely does well in Presidential elections.  It's disgusting to contemplate, but it appears Obama is headed for a reelection win even with unemployment in the 8-9% category and the economy tanking again.  I think the Mayans were a little off on their prediction of the end of the world.  They have it on December 21, 2012.  It will actually occur about six weeks prior to that date.

Romneycare Gives Benefits to Illegal Aliens

Governor Rick Perry, whose campaign for the Republican nomination has hit the rocks, has hit Mitt Romney where it hurts most; Romneycare gives benefits to illegal aliens.  Governor Perry's campaign stated, "Governor Romney’s government-mandated healthcare plan provided free care for illegal immigrants in Massachusetts, establishing just the kind of illegal immigration magnet Governor Romney claims to oppose,” Perry spokesman Mark Miner said.  The Perry Campaign also stated that citizenship is not required under the rules of the Health Safety Net which allowed anyone without insurance (including illegals) to go to any medical clinic or hospital to receive medical care at practically no cost.  The Romney Campaign countered that the Health Safety Net Fund was made long after Governor Mitt Romney left office in Massachusetts. However, Perry Campaign spokesmen stated that the Massachusetts Free Care website was updated three days after former Governor Mitt Romney signed the law. In fact, the law clearly states “Your citizenship or immigration status does not affect your eligibility.”

I must say I find Mitt Romney to be the big hypocritical, flip-flopper that those of us on the Right have always thought him to be.  I have no interest in Rick Perry due to his love affair with illegal aliens in Texas (instate tuition for one thing, heartless if you don't agree is another).  Romney has been blasting Perry for his pandering to illegals  with the instate tuition thing.  All while doing this, Romney had a provision in Romneycare that basically gave free medical assistance to illegal aliens.  I'm really sick of both of these candidates.  Not just due to the fact they are both RINOs.  It goes deeper, to the very core that both men are just big government Republicans in the same manner as Rockefeller,  Nixon and both Bush presidents.  Cain is mopping up both right now according to the latest polls.  It may be, in due part, to his being civil in the debates.  Part of it is that people like the fact he is considered an outsider.  Whatever the reason, Herman Cain is resonating with Republican voters.  Both Romney and Perry better get themselves together.  We get they both like the idea of cheap labor that illegals provide.  What we don't get is why they both are being such hypocrites over the issue of illegals.

I had thought that the economy is what the core of the argument would be in the Republican nomination process.  Right now, it appears that illegal immigration is wounding both Perry and Romney.  Herman Cain?  He's reaping the benefits of the Romney-Perry War.
