The Right Commentary - First Post

Hello!  I want to welcome you to the first post of a new blog, "The Right Commentary."

The parent blog of The Right Commentary is David's Musings.   Now, I did political commentary on David's Musings for the past three years.  But, since I reopened that blog, I prefer to focus on the lighter side of things, some amusing, some not so amusing.  This blog will focus on politics in the United States of America.  These are turbulent times in which we live.  Unemployment is at a staggering 9.1%, the economy is sinking again, Wall St. is up and down with more downs than ups.  Liberals like to lay the blame at the feet of former President George W. Bush.  No doubt, he shares some blame.

The Santa Claus Syndrome

Well, its been over a week since the Presidential election and I just now can speak about it.  It was a major disappointment to me, of course.  I thought the ideas of hard work, giving Americans tools to become successful, getting government off the backs of businesses would be a winning message for Mitt Romney.  Unfortunately, it was not.  President Obama did not win due to a winning message.  He won on negative attacks on Mitt Romney and deflection on his four-year record of high unemployment, out of control spending, massive debt and scandals such as Fast and Furious and, of course, Benghazi attack on our embassy.  None of that mattered to the Obama Zombies who only care about one thing; what can the government give to me.  It's a frightening prospect to consider that Americans no longer think they can survive on their own.  They now need the federal government to take care of them.  This is not the America of Jefferson, Adams and Washington.  No, this is now the America of Reid, Pelosi and Obama.

Much has been made of the impact of the Hispanic vote in this election.  No doubt they did have an impact.  But, what lost the election for Romney is that the core that he thought would win for him, blue collar workers and evangelicals, stayed home for the most part.  That is inexplicable to me.  I know people did not trust Romney.  But, he is a helluva lot better than the empty suit we have in office now.  Hispanics and African-Americans swarmed the Democratic ticket due to the "goodies" that they have been promised by the Democratic Party.  Let the Democratic Party continue to prostitute itself to voting blocs. They do this with promises of "goodies." Eventually, this will come back to bite them on the ass.

Regardless of what the Democrats do, we have to stand up for the rule of law in regard to reckless illegal immigration. We sink or swim by standing by our principles. Do we compromise everything we stand for in order to accommodate a group? When does it end? What if Hispanics, after receiving amnesty, suddenly decide they should be exempt from paying taxes for X number of years? What if Blacks decide they want reparations? Where does it end? It would never end. This is why I say the Democrats are on a slippery slope. We don't need to join them. If we can't stand on the rule of law, what do we stand for? Not much. We're Democrats-lite. If the Republican Party wants to lose the conservative base, just continue the hysterics over Hispanics. While we do have a problem getting our message across to Hispanics. the Democrats are having a problem getting that across to the largest sector of the electorate; whites. They garnered less than 40% this time. Think what they will do to them in the mid-term election.

As Rush Limbaugh said, "In a nation of children, Santa Claus wins."  That is what we saw on November 6th.  The Democratic Party's voting blocs delivered for them because they will get gifts for being good boys and girls.   This is what is so disheartening to me.  Our electorate is now voting based on what the government will do for them.  The government will give Hispanics amnesty.  The government will continue to give Blacks food stamps and welfare, thereby continuing generational poverty.  This nation is on the verge of economic collapse and all we are concerned about is what can Uncle Sam do for us.  Santa Claus must be proud of all the good boys and girls with their hands out.  We are not the nation of which President John F. Kennedy spoke when he said, "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country."  We are the children on Christmas Day opening our gifts to see what Uncle Sam has for us.

Decision Time for Americans

November 6, 2012.  The Presidential Election which is probably the most important in American history.  The choices couldn't be more stark.  On one hand, you have the most radical Left-wing President in Barack Obama this nation has ever elected.  He has no interest in meeting in the middle on any issue.  It's his way or the highway.  He is partisan, he is stubborn and he is arrogant.  President Obama has an ego so big that his ego even has an ego (kudos to Greg Gutfield).  President Obama has never been able to accept criticism.  Unlike former President Bush, Obama absorbs criticism and feels he must automatically respond to it.  I have always gotten the impression President Obama has never understood the enormity of the Office of the President of the United States.  A case in point was his comment on his old friend being arrested and Obama commenting "The police acted stupidly."   Most Presidents grow into the job.  President Obama never has and, hopefully, will not get a chance to do that in the next four years.

Mitt Romney is not the perfect Republican Presidential candidate. He has vacillated on issues over the years from abortion to illegal immigration to health care.  But, Mitt Romney is infinitely better than President Obama.  Obama and his Democratic Progressive branch will continue to spend until this nation falls over the proverbial fiscal cliff (which is not far off now).  The out of control spending has to be stopped.  The only way to do that is to elect Mitt Romney as President.  My vote for Mitt Romney is not so much because I like him.  My vote is due to wanting Obama out of office as soon as possible.  President Obama came into office with tremendous problems facing him.  However, instead of making them better, President Obama has made them worse. The economy is in shambles. Unemployment is still completely unacceptable.  Our drop in AAA rating is a danger sign that doesn't get enough attention.  He has proven tentative on foreign policy with Benghazi being the latest disaster.  You can point to Osama bin Laden all you want.  But, the fact remains there are four dead Americans, including the U.S. Ambassador, in Libya. Obama is more concerned with his position in the world rather than in the USA.

I hope those of you who read this post will join with me in voting for Mitt Romney.  We must shift away from a nation of dependents and back to a nation of independents.  Americans have always been known for their "can do" spirit to get things done.  The world is waiting for us to return to predominance, to lead once again.  President Obama is not the answer.  President Romney is the only choice.

Obama Reelection In Trouble?

It appears that President Obama may not have as easy a road to reelection as many had thought.  The thinking was that Republican Mitt Romney would be the candidate the Obama campaign did not want to run against.  But, Democrats still thought Obama would breeze to reelection in 2012.  Recent polling shows President Obama was running ten points behind Mitt Romney with independent voters.  That is a crucial voting bloc as liberal and conservative lines are entrenched.  Another bloc of voters thought to be in line with President Obama were women.  The so-called Democrat inspired "War on Women" fizzled out with Americans understanding that the entire episode began and ended with liberal activist Susan Fluke.  She was found not to be credible when it was discovered she was and is a liberal operative of the Democratic Party.  President Obama's latest political maneuver of supporting Gay Marriage has not produced the results he had hoped.  Many African-Americans are steadfastly against Gay Marriage.  I'm not saying Obama will lose a large percentage of the black vote.  But, it did not help him as he had once hoped.

The Obama campaign can claim these polls are all "biased" as they claim the New York Times poll is purported to be.  That is a shocking statement about a newspaper that many conservatives consider to be on par with Pravda of the old Soviet Union.  The NY Times has always had a liberal vein and always will.  But, when the NY Times claims that Romney has suddenly caught and passed Obama with women, then that does get your attention.  The "War on Women" Hail Mary backfired on the Obama campaign in a big way.  There's a long way to go in this election year, of course.  But, for people who thought President Obama was a slam dunk for reelection had best reevaluate their opinion.  Your horse is in trouble.

The Mommy Wars

This will be a sort of short post today.  But, I had to say something about Hilary Rosen and her attack on Ann Romney,  the wife of Republican Presidential Nominee, Mitt Romney.  Rosen stated, "... his wife has never worked a day in her life. she's never dealt with the economic issues that a majority of the woman in the country deal with..."   Of course, this is preposterous.   Any stay at home mom must be outraged by a statement such as this.  A stay at home must deal with raising kids, picking them up at school, cooking dinner, getting kids ready for school.  Tell me that is not work, ok?  It just goes to show how truly out of touch Democrats are despite Democrats saying Republicans are out of touch.  It is just more posturing and BS from the Democratic Party.  They are fearful of Ann Romney and stay at home moms, who are mostly conservative.  That scares Democrats.  It wasn't that long ago that another Hillary made an equally callous remark.  Hillary Clinton stated twenty years ago, stay-at-home moms spend their time “baking cookies and having teas.” It is more evidence that Democrats hate the stay at home mom.  Like I said, stay at home moms are mostly conservative.  Democrats sometimes can't help themselves in their loathing of these women.

What we are witnessing are the opening salvos of the 2012 Presidential Campaign.  Democrats have invented the "Republican War on Women" with the contrived contraceptive "controversy."  They have to create these strawmen.  Why?  Because Democrats can't run on their failed record of the past 3 1/2 years.  Record deficits, moribund economy, high unemployment and the much hated Obamacare is not a record you can brag about to voters.  So, we have the "War on Women" and the "Mommy Wars."  What is wrong with this country?  This is the best our two major political parties can do?  I'll say again, we need a viable third party in this country.

Newt Gingrich: The Bitterness Campaign

Newt, we hardly knew ye.  You came into the campaign castigating Congressman Paul Ryan's deficit reduction plan as "right-wing  social engineering."  Then, realizing you had revealed your "left flank," tried to cover up by saying you didn't say it.  Funny thing about the 21st century; we have this new fangled entity called "cameras" that record everything a politician can say or do.  I realize lying is standard procedure for politicians.  But, lying a second time to cover up makes matters worse.  So, you basically disappeared for quite some time.  You made a comeback of sorts in the polls, if not the ballot box.  You tried to establish yourself as the "conservative candidate."  Making a case for illegal aliens didn't exactly endear you to a lot of the Republican base, namely the conservatives.  But, you were trying to stand out in the crowd.  You eventually got too full of yourself.  You were openly boasting you would be the Republican nominee.  One thing about a person with a big ego; it usually turns around and bites them on the butt.  It's fine and dandy to have self-confidence.  But, for the most part, people don't like a braggart.  A lot of your problems are self-inflicted.  Sadly, you can't seem to realize that.

Now that you are only a token candidate, you are lashing out at others for your misfortune.  The bitterness campaign is in full swing for you. The point of your anger is, of course, Mitt Romney.  Remember when you were determined not to go negative?  That was a strategic mistake on your part.  I am doubtful your campaign manager advised you to be "above it all."  This really sounds like the Newt we have always loved and hated over the years.  You are taking negativity to new heights (or lows perhaps) with your acidic attacks on Romney.  You make an acerbic remark about Romney being a  weak frontrunner that finishes third in MS and AL.  Romney dishes it right back by saying, "What does that say about Newt Gingrich?"  You countered with a feeble effort.  You know it's all over now.  But, you are going to hang on in an attempt to hurt Mitt Romney.  Who are you really hurting?  You are hurting Rick Santorum.  Both you and Santorum are splitting the conservative vote.  Romney is laughing all the way to the nomination.  Even with the loss of AL and MS, Romney did well enough in both states to widen his lead on you and Santorum.  Republicans are screaming for you to get out of the race now.  Alas, hell hath no fury like a politician scorned, eh Newt?  You'll stay in to the bitter end.  In doing so, you are at long last writing the epitaph on your political career.  "Here lies Newt Gingrich.  A bitter politician to the bitter end."

AL and MS Republican Primaries

As I type this up, on Republican Primary Day in Mississippi and Alabama, the campaigns of Rick Santorum and Mitt Romney are in full swing around my city (Mobile, AL).  I went to vote Tuesday morning for a host of Republican candidates for both state and local offices and for U.S. Congressman.  I also voted for my choice of Republican Presidential candidate.  I voted for Mitt Romney.  He is far from being the perfect choice.  In fact, in time, I may come to regret that vote if Romney is elected and becomes George W. Bush 2.0.  I would never forgive myself if that happens.  However, even a George W. Bush 2.0 is better than a Barack Obama 1.0 or any other version of President Obama.  Yes, I selected the lesser of four evils Tuesday morning in the Republican Primary here in Alabama.  The local news channels said voting was light.  But, it sure as hell wasn't at my precinct.  I had to get in line to wait for at least 30 minutes.  Other precincts were much lighter than mine.

Polls have shown that it has been a virtual deadlock between Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum (who was in my city last week on a campaign stop) and Mitt Romney in both Alabama and Mississippi.  I have a sneaking suspicion that Newt Gingrich is going to finish second in both states.  Nothing I can base that on.  Just a feeling.  I think his time has passed by.  On the other hand, if Mitt Romney wins one state and finishes a strong second in the other, this will put immense pressure on both Santorum and Gingrich who continues to insist he will stay in the race regardless of outcome.  If the money runs out, Newt will have no choice but to bow out.  To a lesser extent, that could also be the case for Rick Santorum.  He is not running as well as he would have liked.  Mitt Romney is showing surprising strength in both states.  Romney was not expected to be competitive in Alabama and Mississippi.  He was within a couple of point of Newt Gingrich in MS and virtually tied with Gingrich in AL.  If Romney somehow pulls off an amazing upset and wins both states, there will be little reason for both Gingrich and Santorum to remain in the race.  In fact, you will see their Republican contributors start to abandon them.  It is about time to rally around Romney, warts and all.

UPDATE:  Well, how wrong can I be?  Still, Romney did well in two states that he did not expect to do well at all.  This long GOP nomination process continues.

Sandra Fluke - A Liberal Proxy

Remember a couple of months back during one of those seemingly endless debates when George  Stephanopoulos asked Mitt Romney a question about banning contraceptives for women?  Most people thought that was a very strange question at the time.  This is especially true since the debate had centered mostly on the economy.  This question just came out of the blue from George Stephanopoulos.  Or so we thought at the time.  Everyone realizes that Georgie is a hitman for the Democratic Party.  That is just one example of the bias Republicans must contend with during a campaign for President.  It is becoming increasingly apparent that was a precursor of an elaborate Democratic strategy to offset the potential of a brouhaha with the Catholic church over mandatory payment of contraceptives for women.   The Obama Administration and the DNC were planning for this potential fight with the Catholic church.  The strategy was to make it appear that Republicans do not want women to have contraceptives.  It is an attempt to make it appear that Republicans want to ban contraceptives.  Period.  What the Democrats did not expect is the ferocity of this ongoing fight with the Catholic church and others who support them.  This was a serious miscalculation by the Democrats.  They had to do something and do it quickly.

Enter Sandra Fluke, a 30 year old law student (just how long has she been going to school?) at Georgetown.  She suddenly has become the point woman for the Democratic Party in its battle with the Catholic church on the issue of free contraceptives for women.  Sandra Fluke says she needs $3,000 a year to pay for contraceptives. Just how much sex is this homely looking 30 year old law student having? $3K a year for contraceptives?  That is preposterous.  No one is going to believe that.  Well, except if you are a Leftist who will accept anything as long as the taxpayers are footing the bill.  Something else I found puzzling;  who is footing the bill for all these trips (eight at last count) this Georgetown law student is taking to appear on national TV?  Seems I have found an answer.  Reports are that Sandra Fluke is being represented by the PR agency SKDKnickerbocker.  Guess who is the managing editor for this firm?  The infamous Anita Dunn, the former White House Communications Director.  Something that makes you go hmmmmm.  There can be no doubt now.  This is all a contrived and orchestrated event by liberals to have a proxy, in Sandra Fluke, to do their  bidding on an issue that is hurting President Obama.  This is a self-inflicted wound by the Democrats.  As always, they overreach.  They certainly did in this case. But, it is patently obvious this is not about contraceptives for women.  This is a freedom of religion issue.  The Democrats are in serious trouble now.

You won't see the MSM report anything about Anita Dunn being the force behind Sandra Fluke.  They are "all in" for President Obama and the Democratic Party.  But, it does show to what depths the Democrats will go to protect Obama.  This issue will not go away.  The Catholic church is going to see to that.  How does President Obama and the Democratic Party get out of a mess they created themselves?  I have no idea.  But, I do know that the longer this contraceptive issue lingers (and the questions about Sandra Fluke's biased involvement), the more it will hurt the Democratic Party as we march toward the 2012 elections.

The Republican George Soros

Sheldon Adelson is a name with which most Americans are not familiar.  However, I can guarantee you Newt Gingrich is very familiar with him.  Mr. Adelson, a multi-billionaire casino owner in Las Vegas, has already donated approximately $11 million to Newt Gingrich's campaign.  He is about to donate more.  A lot more.  Mr. Adelson was recently quoted as saying, "They like to trash other people. It’s unfair that I’ve been treated unfair—but it doesn’t stop me. I might give $10 million or $100 million to Gingrich.”  Basically, men such as Mr. Adelson and George Soros are capable of buying a presidential election.  But, who can win this high stakes, winner-take-all?  If I were a betting man, I'd put my money on Sheldon Adelson.  He appears even more ruthless than George Soros (if that is even remotely possible).  Strangely, Mr. Adelson is against wealthy people trying to affect elections with their wealth.  “I’m against very wealthy people attempting to or influencing elections,” he shrugs. “But as long as it’s doable I’m going to do it. Because I know that guys like Soros have been doing it for years, if not decades," Mr. Adelson states.  Mr. Adelson states he won't pay for a candidate to mudsling.  That would literally knock out all the Republican candidates right now if he follows through with that.

It appears Shedlon Adelson is going to financially support whoever the Republican candidate will be.  I do believe he is throwing money into a giant sinkhole called the Newt Gingrich campaign.  People have seen Gingrich for what he is; style, but no substance.  He is a panderer, playing up to whatever crowd he is speaking to at the moment.  The bigger question here, is this what the Founding Fathers intended when our constitution was written?  Is our system of electing a  president determined now by a few wealthy men or women with their own political agenda?  I'm not saying billionaires like Sheldon Adelson and George Soros don't have the right to contribute.  But, when you are contributing $10 million a pop to a candidate, how independent will that Presidential Candidate be if he is elected?  How independent has Barack Obama been with the big unions, the same unions that got him elected?  He has given them waivers on Obamacare and having the NLRB file a complaint against Boeing, in South Carolina, due to a "...nonunion production line." This complaint was later dropped.  It is evident, at least to me, wealthy people have far too much influence in our national elections.  The sad thing about it, our politicians show no inclination to stop or, at least, limit this monetary influence any time soon.

ABO: Anybody But Obama

Just when you start thinking you can back Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum comes along and rocks the boat.  After his Florida win, I was almost positive that Mitt Romney was about to take the nomination at last.  He took Nevada easily.  So, I suspected Santorum would give him a tough go of it in Missouri, Colorado and another I forget at the moment.  That gave Rick Santorum a sweep of three states.  Not many people expected that.  I sure as hell didn't expect it.  Santorum is the social conservative in the Republican nomination process.  I'm not sure how that will play out in a national election when jobs and the economy are of the utmost importance to people right now.  Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum are in a dead heat statistically nationwide right now.  So, it is still anybody's race.  My fear is that President Obama will get Rick Santorum.  I may be wrong.  But, Obama would easily beat Rick Santorum.  Mitt Romney is the only one who can give Obama a run for his money according to polls right now.

But, it doesn't really matter if it is Rick Santorum, Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich or the Barber of Seville.    I will vote for ANYBODY BUT OBAMA.  I suspect I am far from being alone in that sentiment.  Sure, unemployment is improving.  But, for some reason, the news media refuses to delve into why it is improving.  You know, like people that have given up looking for a job, people who can't file unemployment claims because their funds have been exhausted.  Things like that.  If this were George W. Bush, you damn well better believe the news media would dissect these improving numbers apart.  But, Obama gets a pass.  It is the news media and Hollywood's infatuation that turns off a lot of people toward Obama.  He is the Messiah, The Anointed One.  He is also an abject failure as a president.  If you bleeding heart liberals would open your eyes, you would see Obama is a miserable failure also.  But, you are all Obama Zombies.  So, I suppose you can be excused.  But, the rest of us can make up our own minds.  Conservatives, moderates, and independents will determine this election.  If conservatives get out the vote, Obama can be beaten.  Even Rick Santorum can beat Obama in my opinion.  Obama has wrecked this economy despite the continual blame on "W."  People aren't buying that excuse any longer.

People are ready for a change.  This time true Hope and Change.  We do  not want the empty slogans of the Obama Cult this time.  It is time to break from the the Obama Great Socialist experiment.  It has failed.  Obamacare is falling apart thanks to lawsuits, Republican opposition, and the recent gift to Republicans, contraceptives on demand from churches.  Like so many people, I am tired of President Obama.  Anybody but Obama?  You damn right.  Even Hillary (gasp) Clinton if she was running for the Republican nomination at this point.

I'm Leaning Toward Mitt Romney

As the subject title states, I am leaning toward Mitt Romney now.  I know he is known as the great "flip-flopper."  I know he has the albatross of "Romneycare" around his neck. I know he is known as a "moderate Republican" which runs counter to all that I believe the Republican Party should be.  I have several other issues with the former governor of Massachusetts.  At one time, prior to this year, there is no way I would have voted for Mitt Romney.  That was before Newt Gingrich came to the forefront of the Republican race for President.  Gingrich is thought of as a "conservative" in some circles. That is total, complete nonsense.  His declaration of Rep. Paul Ryan's budget deficit cuts as "right-wing social engineering" told me all I need to know about this man.  His backdoor amnesty plan for illegal aliens clinched it for me.  He is a big government Republican that we all hoped and prayed had gone the way of the dinosaur.

The more I learn about Ron Paul, the less I like him.  I would probably vote for Gingrich before I would this anti-Israel, anti-military, isolationist candidate.  Rick Santorum is making inroads in Iowa.  But, he simply doesn't have the drawing power to sustain any kind of momentum for long. Rick Perry may make a move. But, he's probably positioning himself for a future run now. Michelle Bachmann is finished and simply doesn't seem ro realize it.  So, why am I leaning toward Mitt Romney, you may ask?  Simply because he is the strongest candidate, the one who has the best chance at beating President Obama.  I know he is having difficulty getting past that 25% support level.  That will change after Iowa, one way or another.  Right now, Ron Paul and Mitt Romney are neck and neck in Iowa.  No one knows who will win that caucus.  If Romney wins Iowa and then wins New Hampshire (where he is heavily favored), the race is basically over.  The rest of the state contests will be simply window dressing.  So, Mitt Romney is my candidate for now.  Will he beat Obama?  I think he can as long as he doesn't make any big mistakes during the campaign. But, with the news media in President Obama's corner, that will be next to impossible for any Republican candidate.

Five Political Christmas Gifts

These are my Five Political Christmas gifts to America and, to a lesser extent, the world.  These are all for fun.  But, I sincerely hope they do come true eventually.

#5.  A viable third party in the U.S. political party system.  America is in dire need of a third political party.  The Republican and Democratic parties are consumed with getting reelected.  The American people they are suppose to represent are secondary to them.  Perhaps the Tea Party will eventually break away from the Republican Party after the 2012 elections.
#4.  Crack down on activist federal judges.  Instead of making rulings according to the U.S. Constitution, we see Appellate judges ruling from their own prejudices, rather than rule of law.  An example is a federal judge in Atlanta who stated the Alabama Immigration Enforcement Law would force illegal immigrants to flee the state.  How insane is that statement?
#3.  Political Partisanship comes to an end.  This is more in line with #5 above.  No, I don't see it ever happening in my lifetime with the Republican and Democratic parties as estranged as they are right now.  But, it would be nice if both parties would occasionally work together.
#2.  The resignation or retirement of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid.  These two left-wing radicals are greatly responsible for the bitter political infighting between both parties in Washington D.C. today.  Both have their own Socialist agenda that they are trying to perpetrate upon a traditionally Democratic America.  Both are relentless Socialists who show no sign of backing down from their dream of a United Socialist States of America.
#1.  The defeat of President Barack Obama in 2012.  Obama was the president who was suppose to bring us together.  Due to his own partisanship, he has sown more animosity between the Right and Left than any other President in recent memory.  His single-minded approach to Obamacare, at the expense of working on jobs for Americans, is costing us dearly right now.  President Obama is a Socialist in the same mode as Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi.  His defeat in November of 2012 would be the greatest early 2012 Christmas gift I could ever imagine.

Those are my political Christmas gifts to America.  Will any be realized?  I can only pray that #1 happens.  It would save this nation from further turmoil and acrimony.  Merry Christmas!

Glenn Beck Would Prefer Ron Paul

I've listened to Glenn Beck since his days on CNN Headline News.  I have not always agreed with him on a number of issues such as his belief that we should have increased immigration, doom and gloom on the economy and a variety of issues.  But, I have always admired his steadfast beliefs whether I agree with him or not.  One thing about Glenn Beck, you always know what side of the issue he is on.  He is not really pleased with the Republican Presidential candidates.  He has made that known for quite some time.  He does seem to be rather fond of Michelle Bachmann (for reasons I can't understand).  But, other than her, he has little regard for the Republican field.

All this being said, I was shocked when I saw where Glenn Beck stated he would vote for a Ron Paul third party candidacy rather than vote for a potential Republican nominee Newt Gingrich.   Of course, Mr. Beck realizes that a Ron Paul third party candidacy would ensure an unprecedented disaster with an Obama second term.  If you hated Obama's first term, you would despise his second term.  Glenn Beck knows this.  So, why would he come out and say what he did about a Ron Paul third party candidacy?  Is it because it is his principles that are involved? That doesn't make a lot of sense to me.  Beck has repeatedly said in the past that sometimes "You have to do the difficult things in life, things that you really don't want to do."  But, you do it for the betterment of your country.  He has often quoted George Washington (of whom he and I share great respect) of the hardships endured in reaching your goal.  Now, anyone that has read this blog knows how I feel about Newt Gingrich.  I feel he is a RINO, a big government Republican that really has no place in conservative circles.  But, reality is that Newt Gingrich may be the Republican nominee! I have reluctantly accepted that.

Beck is missing the larger goal here.  The goal being to put President Obama out of office.  Inasmuch as I dislike Gingrich, I will happily push the lever for him in November of 2012.  If Glenn Beck can't see what is at stake here, in beating Obama, then all he has said in the past is meaningless.  It will be a sacrifice to vote for Gingrich.  But, as Glenn Beck surely must know, it is for the greater good of this country that Obama be turned out of office.  That is what all Republicans must focus their attention.  That is what Glenn Beck must also focus his attention on as well.
