The Bill Clinton Strategy

Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky started it off on a Sunday morning show (Meet the Liberal Press). He commented that former President Bill Clinton displayed ""predatory behavior" toward then intern Monica Lewinsky.  "He took advantage of a girl that was 20 years old and an intern in his office. There is no excuse for that, and that is predatory behavior," Senator Paul said.  Senator Paul said this after his wife Kelley, stated in Vogue magainze last September, Bill Clinton's conduct in the White House should be a factor for voters when considering Hillary Clinton for president.  Rand Paul said that Bill Clinton's behavior with Lewinsky should be considered when judging him, he said it shouldn't necessarily impact Hillary Clinton's potential presidential run.  The Clintons, for their part, have remained silent on this latest back and forth on the so-called GOP "War on Women."  Many people think this tactic will backfire on the GOP in their attempt to win the Presidency in 2016.  Mitt Romney also chipped in on this topic.

Obama Reelection In Trouble?

It appears that President Obama may not have as easy a road to reelection as many had thought.  The thinking was that Republican Mitt Romney would be the candidate the Obama campaign did not want to run against.  But, Democrats still thought Obama would breeze to reelection in 2012.  Recent polling shows President Obama was running ten points behind Mitt Romney with independent voters.  That is a crucial voting bloc as liberal and conservative lines are entrenched.  Another bloc of voters thought to be in line with President Obama were women.  The so-called Democrat inspired "War on Women" fizzled out with Americans understanding that the entire episode began and ended with liberal activist Susan Fluke.  She was found not to be credible when it was discovered she was and is a liberal operative of the Democratic Party.  President Obama's latest political maneuver of supporting Gay Marriage has not produced the results he had hoped.  Many African-Americans are steadfastly against Gay Marriage.  I'm not saying Obama will lose a large percentage of the black vote.  But, it did not help him as he had once hoped.

The Obama campaign can claim these polls are all "biased" as they claim the New York Times poll is purported to be.  That is a shocking statement about a newspaper that many conservatives consider to be on par with Pravda of the old Soviet Union.  The NY Times has always had a liberal vein and always will.  But, when the NY Times claims that Romney has suddenly caught and passed Obama with women, then that does get your attention.  The "War on Women" Hail Mary backfired on the Obama campaign in a big way.  There's a long way to go in this election year, of course.  But, for people who thought President Obama was a slam dunk for reelection had best reevaluate their opinion.  Your horse is in trouble.

The Mommy Wars

This will be a sort of short post today.  But, I had to say something about Hilary Rosen and her attack on Ann Romney,  the wife of Republican Presidential Nominee, Mitt Romney.  Rosen stated, "... his wife has never worked a day in her life. she's never dealt with the economic issues that a majority of the woman in the country deal with..."   Of course, this is preposterous.   Any stay at home mom must be outraged by a statement such as this.  A stay at home must deal with raising kids, picking them up at school, cooking dinner, getting kids ready for school.  Tell me that is not work, ok?  It just goes to show how truly out of touch Democrats are despite Democrats saying Republicans are out of touch.  It is just more posturing and BS from the Democratic Party.  They are fearful of Ann Romney and stay at home moms, who are mostly conservative.  That scares Democrats.  It wasn't that long ago that another Hillary made an equally callous remark.  Hillary Clinton stated twenty years ago, stay-at-home moms spend their time “baking cookies and having teas.” It is more evidence that Democrats hate the stay at home mom.  Like I said, stay at home moms are mostly conservative.  Democrats sometimes can't help themselves in their loathing of these women.

What we are witnessing are the opening salvos of the 2012 Presidential Campaign.  Democrats have invented the "Republican War on Women" with the contrived contraceptive "controversy."  They have to create these strawmen.  Why?  Because Democrats can't run on their failed record of the past 3 1/2 years.  Record deficits, moribund economy, high unemployment and the much hated Obamacare is not a record you can brag about to voters.  So, we have the "War on Women" and the "Mommy Wars."  What is wrong with this country?  This is the best our two major political parties can do?  I'll say again, we need a viable third party in this country.
