Obama's Politics of Fear

I guess I could have just as easily made the title "Fear of Politics" which would include both political parties, both political ideologies.  But, it seems the Left has a patent on fear-mongering.  For example, no sooner had Mitt Romney named Paul Ryan as his Republican Vice-Presidential candidate then the Obama Zombie attacks come out in full bloom.  Of course, if you listen to the Democrats, Paul Ryan is going to push granny right off the cliff into oblivion.  Then there were attacks that stated Paul Ryan would cut funding from Medicare!  First, just to show how preposterous this is, Paul Ryan is not at the top of the ticket.  Mitt Romney is the Republican Presidential candidate, not Paul Ryan.  Mitt Romney has not bought completely into Ryan's budget cuts.  Secondly, let's name the ONLY president to cut funding from Medicare.  Take your time.  Give up?  None other than the saintly and blessed PRESIDENT OBAMA and his Socialist lackeys cut over $700 billion from Medicare to help fund Obamacare (which, by last count, is going to cost over twice that amount).  Let me state that once again.  PRESIDENT OBAMA AND HIS SOCIALIST LACKEYS CUT OVER $700 BILLION FROM MEDICARE TO HELP FUND OBAMACARE.   You will never see that in the press who are 100% behind the Leftist politics of the Democratic Party.

Goofy Joe Biden, alleged Vice-President of the United States, stated yesterday that "They're (Republicans) are going to put y'all back in chains" in referencing Mitt Romney's comments to unchain Wall St. from the clutches of the Democratic Leftists.  This is the kind of rhetoric that the Romney campaign is going to face in the months leading to the Presidential Election.  God forbid that the focus turns to the "private sector economy that is doing fine" or "unemployment that is now in it's record 41st month above 8%".   No, the Democrats know they can't win on the two big issues that concern Americans most.  Instead, they have to focus on the negative tactics of politics.  The mudslinging and personal attacks (such as calling Romney a "murderer") are only going to get worse.

This is the first election Obama has ever been involved in which he has had to actually work to try and win.  They are going to increase the politics of fear with the polls showing that Paul Ryan is actually helping Romney, not hurting him.  The Obama campaign is like a cornered fox, striking and hissing out in every direction.  They will sling mud in the hopes that something will stick.  This is the only campaign strategy the Obama Zombies have right now.  However, after Labor Day, when the campaign really kicks in, the Democrats will have no choice but to respond to the attacks that are surely coming their way on the economy from Republicans.  It will be interesting to see the Democratic response at that time.  No doubt, the response will be more of the same of political fear-mongering because, once again, that is all the Democrats have in their arsenal.

Obama Reelection In Trouble?

It appears that President Obama may not have as easy a road to reelection as many had thought.  The thinking was that Republican Mitt Romney would be the candidate the Obama campaign did not want to run against.  But, Democrats still thought Obama would breeze to reelection in 2012.  Recent polling shows President Obama was running ten points behind Mitt Romney with independent voters.  That is a crucial voting bloc as liberal and conservative lines are entrenched.  Another bloc of voters thought to be in line with President Obama were women.  The so-called Democrat inspired "War on Women" fizzled out with Americans understanding that the entire episode began and ended with liberal activist Susan Fluke.  She was found not to be credible when it was discovered she was and is a liberal operative of the Democratic Party.  President Obama's latest political maneuver of supporting Gay Marriage has not produced the results he had hoped.  Many African-Americans are steadfastly against Gay Marriage.  I'm not saying Obama will lose a large percentage of the black vote.  But, it did not help him as he had once hoped.

The Obama campaign can claim these polls are all "biased" as they claim the New York Times poll is purported to be.  That is a shocking statement about a newspaper that many conservatives consider to be on par with Pravda of the old Soviet Union.  The NY Times has always had a liberal vein and always will.  But, when the NY Times claims that Romney has suddenly caught and passed Obama with women, then that does get your attention.  The "War on Women" Hail Mary backfired on the Obama campaign in a big way.  There's a long way to go in this election year, of course.  But, for people who thought President Obama was a slam dunk for reelection had best reevaluate their opinion.  Your horse is in trouble.

Obama Withdraw for 2012?

In what has to be one of the more incredible columns to date on President Obama, columnist Steve Chapman of the Chicago (yep, Obama's hometown) Tribune brought forth a simple point;  Why Obama should withdraw (for 2012).  Mr. Chapman brought forth some salient points in his Sunday column.  Nothing he said was earth shattering.  He talked about the high unemployment numbers, the economy about to go under for another recession, a jobs plan that has virtually no chance to make it through Congress.  Mr. Chapman, like so many liberals today, brought up the House seat of former Congressman Henry Weiner going Republican (after being in Democratic hands for 88 years).  That last point has brought cataclysmic upheaval in the Democratic Party.  Even James Carville, quite possibly the most antagonistic Democrat in many years, is telling Obama it's time to "panic."  You get the feeling things are spiraling out of control within the Democratic Party these days.  A columnist in President Obama's hometown suggesting he should withdraw from the Democratic Nomination for President?  Would you have believed that possible even three months ago?  I certainly would not have ever considered it.

I think the above amply demonstrates just how chaotic things are right now in the Obama Campaign and the Democratic Party itself.  The loss of that seat in New York has set off a chain of events that Democrats find totally unacceptable.  The Democratic Party is facing the possibility of not only seeing additional gains by Republicans in the House, but they face the possibility of losing the Senate.  The idea of losing the White House is a very real possibility.  The latter is becoming more of a reality with each passing day.  So, who is to blame for this sudden change of events?  You could point the finger at a multitude of people from the Democratic Party Chairman to House and Senate Democrat leaders.  But, the person who is receiving the blame is the guy at the top, President Obama.  The President never accepts blame for anything bad that happens.  The buck always stops elsewhere, not in the Obama Oval Office.  This is part of the Obama problem.  His nature is to not accept responsibility if something that goes wrong.  His lapdogs are, of course, still blaming George W. Bush.  The American people are tired of this.  Even some Democrats are tired of Obama.  No, make that a lot of Democrats are tired of Obama.

All this said, I simply don't see Obama withdrawing his name from the campaign for the Democratic nominee.  To do so would be to place someone or something before himself. He will never do that.   Obama has always placed himself first above what is best for his party, and/or his country.
