A Nation In Chaos

I've lived a long time.  I'll be 63 years old in September.  I've seen the United States of America reel from the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King Jr., and Robert F. Kennedy.  I've seen President Nixon resign from office in disgrace.  I've seen Democrats, Republicans, right-wingers, left-wingers attack each other mercilessly.  I've lived through several recessions.  I've seen economic upheaval that threatened the very fabric of our nation.  I've seen this nation at war several times and the aftermath of war.  In summary, I have seen this nation get knocked down and then get back up.  The terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001 which served to only bring this nation together as one.  America always comes together in a time of great need.  At least, that's the way it has always been in the past.

Marco Rubio: Yes, I'm Ready To Be President

Senator Marco Rubio has been a rising star among young Republicans and was a star of the Tea Party Movement.  He has been rumored to be thinking of running for the Republican nomination for president in 2016.  On ABC News "This Week," Senator Rubio was asked by host Jonathan Karl if he was ready to be president.  "I do … but I think that’s true for multiple other people that would want to run … I mean, I’ll be 43 this month, but the other thing that perhaps people don’t realize, I’ve served now in public office for the better part of 14 years,” said Rubio. “Most importantly, I think a president has to have a clear vision of where the country needs to go and clear ideas about how to get it there and I think we’re very blessed in our party to have a number of people that fit that criteria.” Senator Rubio replied.

Jeb Bush: An Act of Love

Former Florida governor Jeb Bush said Sunday that many who illegally come to the United States do so out of an "act of love" for their families and should be treated differently than people who illegally cross U.S. borders or overstay visas. This comment from Jeb Bush came on the 25th anniversary of George H. W. Bush library and museum.  Jeb Bush went on to say that the Senate amnesty was a good effort at proposals that will catch people who are overstaying their visa stays.  "A great country ought to know where those folks are and politely ask them to leave," he said, adding later that properly targeting people who overstay visas "would restore people's confidence" in the nation's immigration system."

The GOP Principles On Amnesty

The GOP Principles that House Speaker John Boehner and other Republican leaders have espoused are not going over well with the rank and file GOP House members.  Boehner and Rep. Paul Ryan desperately want to pass an immigration reform bill to help the GOP chances in the 2016 Presidential Election and to satisfy the thirst of businesses for cheap labor.  The consequences of giving amnesty to about 20 million illegal aliens are not being thought through by the GOP.  The Democrats don't care what a terrible burden millions of mostly illiterate, low-skilled illegals will have on the social structure of this nation.

Rand Paul Now Endorses Amnesty for Illegals

In another case of the chicken littles, of the Republican Party panicking, Rand Paul of Texas is now supporting  a path to citizenship for illegal aliens.  Rep. Rand Paul follows in the footsteps of Senator Marco Rubio who also now supports amnesty for illegals.  Rand Paul stated in his speech yesterday, "If you wish to live and work in America, then we will find a place for you."  There was no word in Rep. Paul's speech about finding work for the estimated 20-23 million unemployed American citizens.  Apparently, there is no place for the American people who are desperately seeking work.  Now, providing "work" and a "place" for illegals is of utmost importance to both Republicans and Democrats.  You don't hear talk about jobs for the chronically unemployed of America any longer.  Some might say it is due to our "recovering economy" that is about to see its third summer victory tour by President Obama at some point.  I wish Senator Rubio, Rep. Paul and Governor Jindal would go on this "victory tour" with President Obama this summer.  I  hope they would look into the faces of the millions of unemployed AMERICANS who have given up hope in their desire for "work" and a "place" in society.  Somehow, I doubt they will even care.

I must say I am supremely disappointed in U.S. Rep. Rand Paul.  I agree with him a lot more on issues than not.  But, like Ann Coulter, I am now a single issue voter for the next four years at least.  We already have immigration laws on the books that the federal government has largely ignored for at least two decades.  Now, we are supposed to believe the career politicians when they say this time we will take border enforcement seriously and this will be the "last amnesty?"  I don't believe them, I don't trust them.  Therefore, I am totally against any form of amnesty for illegal aliens.  I am greatly disappointed in the GOP.  They were the last hope to stop amnesty.  It now appears, strictly for their own political expediency, they are deserting their base on this issue.  Democrats have never cared for the rule of law.  I had thought the GOP was different.  I was wrong.  I am finished with them as well as Rand Paul whom I was strongly considering supporting for the Republican nomination for President. Not any longer.

Republicans Are Cowards

A provocative statement, you may say, in stating Republicans are cowards.  Perhaps.  But, all evidence aside to prove my argument, there can be no other conclusion made about the current state of affairs in the Republican Party.  As soon as it became official that President Obama had been reelected, Speaker of the House, John Boehner, was basically laying the framework for terms of surrender.  He felt that the fiscal cliff issue could be dealt with, the debt ceiling, gun control and, of course, illegal immigration.  Since the election, Obama has been setting the tone of what will be the "Crisis of the Month" in order to get his way.  Perhaps Republicans are wary of Obama issuing more executive orders.  That is another bone of contention.  How can Republicans sit idly by when he basically took immigration away from Congress by allowing the so-called "Dreamers" to stay and go to school at U.S. Taxpayer expense?  Was there even a lawsuit filed or injunction filed to fight the President on this by Republicans?  To my knowledge, no, Republicans did nothing.  On the Fiscal Cliff deal, Republicans gave Obama 90% of all he asked for in that fight.  The Debt Ceiling is an ongoing battle.  Republicans are showing no real leadership in dealing with the most Left-wing President this nation has ever known.  Obama's out of control spending will haunt this country for decades, long after he and all his merry henchmen in the Democratic Party are out of office.  Then there is "comprehensive immigration reform" (CIR) aka Amnesty.

After the November elections, Republicans recoiled in terror over the idea of Obama getting 70% of the hispanic vote.  Democrats have always done well in this voting bloc.  They always will.  So, cowards that they are, instead of standing on principle and the rule of law, Republicans are now becoming Democrats on the idea of CIR.  Hispanics have been voting in record numbers each time since the Reagan Amnesty in the mid-80s.  There were promises of border enforcement then also.  So, Republicans have this idea, if we give hispanics ANOTHER amnesty, maybe they will start voting for them.  Not a chance in hell that will ever happen.  Hispanics are disproportionately low-income and disproportionately likely to receive some form of government support. More than half of hispanics are born out of wedlock.  In short, they resemble most of the voting blocs that have helped Democrats for decades now.  They will never vote for someone who wants smaller government and less welfare.  Those are facts that neither Republicans or Democrats want to talk about.  Now, it would be wrong to say ALL hispanics are generational welfare recipients who live off the government dole.   But, the main point here is that the majority of hispanics will never vote Republican.  It is sheer fantasy to think they ever will.  Republicans must know this.  So, why don't they say they want the current immigration laws enforced instead of dealing with another amnesty?  Because people like John Boeher, Eric Cantor et all, are all cowards.  They refuse to stand up for principles of the Republican Party.  Instead they want to beome the Democrats alter ego now.

Twenty years from now, if someone wants to trace the total demise, the irrelevancy of the GOP, they can go back to November 7, 2012.  On that day, Republicans grew a giant yellow streak. Instead of being the party that stood for the rule of law, instead of a party of principle, let it be remembered the Republican Party decided that for their own self interests, it would be better to be Democrat-lite than be what the Republicans were known to be about at one time; less government, less taxes, more freedom.  Neither party cares about the American people.  It is time we all understand that.

First Anti-American President

What more can you say about President Barack Obama?  He shows no inclination to work the legislative process, bypassing Congress on numerous occasions.  He has little regard for the U.S. Constitution.  He proved that yesterday by approving a DREAM Act that goes further than anything Congress had ever planned.  Obama said that he will stop deporting illegals children who came to this country with their illegal parents.  That is basically all you need to know, along with the fact this means immediate amnesty for a million illegals which will transcend itself into about 3 million with aunts, uncles, sister, brother, etc.  These "children," who are eligible up to age 30, can also work here legally.  This puts even more pressure on the 13-15 million unemployed Americans who cannot find work anywhere.

This proves, beyond a shadow of a doubt, President Obama has no regard for the plight of this country.  Instead, the only job President Obama is focused on is saving his own job.  What President Obama has done today is reward illegal behavior by adults who knew they were breaking the law by entering this country illegally.  If nothing else, they should be immediately arrested.  What this will do is further antagonize Americans who are tired of the sucking sound coming from social services such as social security, food stamps and unemployment.  This amnesty is nothing more than an election year ploy for votes from Hispanics (who are being pandered to, but apparently don't care).

President Obama (as the title indicates) is truly the first anti-American President in the 236 years of this nation.  He has shown his contempt for anything American (American exceptionalism is quaint).  I suspect Republicans will whine and cry about this latest atrocity by Obama.  But, they will do nothing to try and stop him.  This is just the beginning for Obama.  He wants to unilaterally give amnesty to the 15-20 million illegal aliens in this country.  Obama knows what he is doing is unconstitutional.  He stated not long ago he needs help from Congress to pass the Dream Act Amnesty.  But, Obama is concerned with only one thing now; getting reelected so he can finish the job of destroying this country.  He thinks this will endear him to Hispanics.  He is probably right.  But, this only embitters people more with illegals who are destroying this country.  Obama's action Friday just finished the job that illegals have started.  Congratulations to our beloved President.  RIP USA   Born July 4, 1776  -  Died June 15, 2012.

Newt Gingrich's New Immigration Plan

I'm not sure I've ever come across a man more in love with himself than Newt Gingrich.  At one time, I admired him simply on his ideas alone.  But, it seems he comes up with ideas without thinking them through.  A good example is Newt Gingrich's latest immigration plan.  Newt says he wants to present a more humane approach to dealing with illegal immigration.  If you have been here 25 years, committed no crime (again what part of illegal do you not understand?), or partaken of the social services (which will eliminate approximately 75% of all illegals immediately) then you would be eligible for legal status under his plan.  How many illegals would even qualify under this new plan by Gingrich?  How many illegals will even come forward and register, which is a big part of the Gingrich immigration plan?  Let's say that one-million come forward and are eligible.  I think I'm being generous, but let's take one-million.  What about the other 10, 15 or 20 million still prancing around illegally in this country?  Big government and business Republicans say this is a bold, new plan.  There is nothing bold or new about it.  It is just another fancy way of saying "amnesty."   Gingrich says they will not qualify for full citizenship.  But, they can gain legality.  Ask how many really care about citizenship anyway.  Most want to just live and work in this country so they can send money back to Mexico. Honduras, or whatever country they came from originally.

Mitt Romney and Michelle Bachmann immediately attacked Gingrich over this plan. He talks about controlling the border.  Every President talks about controlling the border (some even lie and say it is under control now, hint, hint).  It has never been done and most likely will never be controlled until we stop taking our marching orders from Mexico.  Why one country has so much influence on U.S. domestic and foreign policy I will never understand.  Back to Gingrich....at least he has brought the illegal immigration issue off the backburner.  I agree Illegal Immigration needs to be dealt with and dealt with after we kick Obama out of office.  However, giving any form of a break to illegals, regardless of how long they have been in this country, will only encourgage more illegals to swarm across the border.  We cannot keep encouraging people to illegally enter our country.  Democrats have no regard for border enforcement since they see illegal aliens as instant Democrats.  We must do as Gingrich stated (and I agree), put fully armed National Guardsmen on our border to stop this invasion.  We must make e-verify mandatory in both the federal and private sectors of employment.  Deny any social services to a household with an illegal alien.  You don't have to deport illegals.  They will deport themselves when the magnet(s) drawing them over here is gone; jobs and government social services.

Chris Christie to Run in 2012?

News reports for the past week are that New Jersey Governor Chris Christie may run for President in 2012.  He has gone back and forth on this issue since January of this year.  At one time he actually stated he was not ready to be President of the United States.  I tend to agree with him on that.  Of course, a community organizer isn't really qualified to be President either.  Maybe that is the reason we are in the mess we're in right now.  Regardless, it would add another participant to the race for the Republican Nomination.  If I am correct, that makes ten people running for the nomination.  That is simply too many.  At some point, the debates will have to cut off the second and third tier candidates like Rick Santorum who had a good night at the debate in Orlando last week.  Of course, we still don't know if the favorite punching bag of the Left, Sarah Palin, will run or not.  I honestly hope and pray neither candidate run.
