Jeb Bush: An Act of Love
Former Florida governor Jeb Bush said Sunday that many who illegally come to the United States do so out of an "act of love" for their families and should be treated differently than people who illegally cross U.S. borders or overstay visas. This comment from Jeb Bush came on the 25th anniversary of George H. W. Bush library and museum. Jeb Bush went on to say that the Senate amnesty was a good effort at proposals that will catch people who are overstaying their visa stays. "A great country ought to know where those folks are and politely ask them to leave," he said, adding later that properly targeting people who overstay visas "would restore people's confidence" in the nation's immigration system."
But, the comment that will surely come back to haunt him if he decides to run for the 2016 Republican Nomination for President, is when he said, "There are means by which we can control our border better than we have. And there should be penalties for breaking the law," he added. "But the way I look at this -- and I'm going to say this, and it'll be on tape and so be it. The way I look at this is someone who comes to our country because they couldn’t come legally, they come to our country because their families -- the dad who loved their children -- was worried that their children didn’t have food on the table. And they wanted to make sure their family was intact, and they crossed the border because they had no other means to work to be able to provide for their family. Yes, they broke the law, but it’s not a felony. It’s an act of love."
This is, yet, another example of just how out of touch the establishment GOP is with the rest of the American people. Mr. Bush says it is an "act of love" that brings people to this country illegally. He says they come because of their "families." Has Mr. Bush given any thought to the low-skilled American workers who cannot find a job so as to feed their families? Has he considered it an "act of love" to prevent people like illegal immigrants from coming here and taking these jobs away from American citizens? Does Mr. Bush consider it an "act of love" to stop these people from illegally entering this country so as to determine if they are terrorists who mean to do harm to Americans? I don't think Mr. Bush or any other amnesty lovers are thinking about American citizens. No one seems to care for our welfare. Where is the outrage over lack of jobs for Americans? All we hear about is jobs and government benefits for foreign nationals. It is this mindset we see in Jeb Bush and virtually all Democrats these days. Their reasoning is that Hispanics are all illegal aliens and will vote to keep them in office. 60% of registered Hispanic voters support granting amnesty to "undocumented immigrants" only if illegal immigration is reduced by 90%. Think about that. Hispanics will not consider amnesty unless 90% of illegal immigration is reduced. This runs in direct contrast to what Democrats and RINOs are telling us. It's not an "act of love" driving illegal immigration to violate our immigration laws. It's an "act of greed." It is greed and "free benefits" they think they can get in food stamps, welfare payments, all courtesy of the American taxpayer. That is what it is, Mr. Bush.
Obviously, Jeb Bush said this to set himself apart from the rest of the Republican frontrunners for the 2016 nomination. Apparently, he didn't see what happened to former Texas Governor Rick Perry when he talked about compassion for illegals in regards to instate tuition. Unlike Democrats, most conservative Republicans stand for the rule of law. We have a front door for immigrants to come to this country. Those deciding to break our immigration laws by using the back door deserve no "acts of love" from this country. Unfortunately, President Obama and his Democratic cronies see this as a way to get more illegal voters for their party. You can include Jeb Bush and other RINOs like him in this regard.

All political views are welcome. That includes the liberal viewpoint as well. Civil discussion is preferred and encouraged. You can disagree without being disagreeable.
