Chris Christie to Run in 2012?
News reports for the past week are that New Jersey Governor Chris Christie may run for President in 2012. He has gone back and forth on this issue since January of this year. At one time he actually stated he was not ready to be President of the United States. I tend to agree with him on that. Of course, a community organizer isn't really qualified to be President either. Maybe that is the reason we are in the mess we're in right now. Regardless, it would add another participant to the race for the Republican Nomination. If I am correct, that makes ten people running for the nomination. That is simply too many. At some point, the debates will have to cut off the second and third tier candidates like Rick Santorum who had a good night at the debate in Orlando last week. Of course, we still don't know if the favorite punching bag of the Left, Sarah Palin, will run or not. I honestly hope and pray neither candidate run.
Chris Christie is going to be another Republican in Name Only (RINO) like John McCain, Lindsey Graham, Rick Perry and even Mitt Romney. Only the last two are running for President. Governor Christie is noted for taking on unions in making a balanced budget. In fact, that seems to be his only claim to fame these days. I simply don't understand the fascination with him. His biggest drawback, and one that is currently destroying Rick Perry, is Governor Christie's idea that illegal aliens should have a "path to citizenship" aka amnesty. In other words, reward people for breaking U.S. federal laws. He advocated this when he was attorney general of New Jersey. That's right, the man responsible for enforcing law would reward lawbreakers. I'm not sure I would want someone like that as President. Our current Criminal in Chief is bad enough.
You would think that Rick Perry would have learned from the lessons of John McCain who almost had his political career destroyed in 2008 due to his support for illegal aliens. You would think people would learn by now. But, in 2011, you still see people like Rick Perry making the same mistakes of John McCain and even George W. Bush who also advocated amnesty. President Bush's notion of being a true conservative is now shipwrecked in the annals of history. Chris Christie, I fear, is about to make the same mistakes as the above. I am confident he will announce he is running, perhaps even this week. I think initially, Governor Christie will do well. Rick Perry jumped out front also after he announced. Christie will be eaten alive for his illegal immigration stance just like McCain, just like Rick Perry and even President Bush. Americans want illegals out of this country. Giving them amnesty only gives incentive for more illegals to stream across the border. You would think our politicians could figure that out someday.

All political views are welcome. That includes the liberal viewpoint as well. Civil discussion is preferred and encouraged. You can disagree without being disagreeable.
