Obamacare Disaster

That's about the only way I can put it...Obamacare is a disaster.  Obamacare is a disaster of such epic proportions that not even the most severe critics were prepared for what has happened since the roll-out of President Obama's lovechild this month.  Premiums in California, the state that gives illegal aliens more rights than the native born citizens, have medical insurance rates that have skyrocketed by over 200%.  Remember Obama saying if you like your medical insurance, you can keep it?  Well, as we all know now, that was a damn lie.  Employers are either cutting back hours to avoid Obamacare or they are just outright laying people off. 

For example, Adam Weldzius, a nurse practitioner, if the 33-year-old single father wants the same level of coverage next year as what he has now with the same insurer and the same network of doctors and hospitals, his monthly premium of $233 will more than double. If he wants to keep his monthly payments in check, the Carpentersville resident is looking at an annual deductible for himself and his 7-year-old daughter of $12,700, a more than threefold increase from $3,500 today.  Whatever happened to that quaint idea of lower insurance rates with Obamacare?  Why don't we hear Democrats, who forced this monstrosity upon the American people, lauding the virtues of Obamacare and the "savings" it will produce?  We were all lied to by the Democrats.  That's right, they lied to us.  To those people who were fooled by the Democrats, I hate to say I told you so.  But, well, I told you so. The people who thought they would see real savings (such as Mr Weldzius above) on their individual health plans are the ones getting nailed to the wall by Obamacare!

But, just as pathetic are these $94 million (probably much more) government web signup exchanges that are a disaster.  We now hear they were not equipped to handle over 50K at one time.  Few people were able to signup.  Those that did manage to get signed up found they would be paying anywhere from 50 to 100% more for their insurance premiums for healthcare.  Of course, they signed off after seeing that.  Obamacare is too much for the American people to pay.  Even with subsidies by the government, people can't afford it.  The Obama Administration is claiming 51K signed up in the first week.  According to their own figures, they only have 41 million more to go.  But, did 51K really sign up through the online exchanges?  A survey performed found that not more than about 5,000 individuals and families signed-up for health insurance in the 36 states run by the Obama administration through Monday.  Even more pathetic is that many of the purported 51K signup were most likely duplicates!!!  This is a unmitigated disaster on a scale that will make history.  But, it will make history in that we will remember how Democrats said "We have to pass the bill to see what's in it."  Now we know what is in it.  What we are finding is a multitude of unworkable regulations, rules and red tape that makes this law completely unworkable.  Democrats will sink or swim with Obamacare.  This is their baby, the cross they will carry in each election from now on.  Is it possible that Obamacare will eventually be successful?  I suppose there is a chance in hell it could work.  But, like all liberal utopian ideas, this one wasn't thought through very well.  In fact, I'm almost convinced they planned it like this to fail so they can get the coveted single-payer system they wanted in the first place.  That will be next.  Like Obamacare, it will also fail like all Socialist ideas have over history.
