Detroit - UN May Have To Help City

In what has become an unimaginable scenario, in a major U.S. city, the city of Detroit has half its population unable to pay its water bill!  You read that correctly, half the Detroit residents can't pay a basic necessity of life, water.  A spokesman for the Detroit Water System stated it is a possibility that the United Nations may have to step in to help provide funds to a U.S. city so people can have water. 

This is not in some poor village in West Africa.  This is right here in the good old USA.  This same spokesman stated the bills must be paid and soon.  “If they do contact us we are willing to speak with them," DWAS spokesperson Curtrise Garner stated. ,  She added, “We owe it to the customers that are paying to collect from those that aren’t. Somebody has to pay for the water.”  The average water bill in Detroit is $75 a month, almost double the national average of $40 a month. There was no explanation as to why Detroit's water bill is so high.  They did state it cost money to transport water from the source and filter it to the customer.  But, doesn't every water system have to do this in the USA?  Of course they do.  It smacks of mismanagement and possible corruption.

One Detroit resident wrote on Facebook, “Call President Obama, he has plenty of taxpayers cash to spend. Wasn’t that a campaign promise he made along with free rent and gas and payin’ my car note…Socialism only works if there is someone to pay for it.”  Yes, it seems I remember all those Socialist promises that Obama made during the campaign and knowing full well, promises he couldn't keep.  Detroit is just the latest face of destruction that Socialism brings to people.  It destroys everything it touches, including the lives of people.  I'm sure the vast majority of Detroit residents voted for President Obama based on some of the promises he made during his initial campaign.  Obama will just  blame Republicans and the Democratic zombie base will just nod its head in agreement.  That's a shame.  Socialism holds down people.  It saps their goals in life by spreading crumbs to the populace as we have seen Obama try to do repeatedly during his term in office.  In short, Socialism has never worked, it is not working now (re: Detroit, Baltimore, etc) and it will not work in any future endeavors.  The shame is that some people are so brain-dead by the Democratic Party message, they will never question their "leaders."   And the vicious cycle of poverty continues, thanks to the adherence to Socialist principles.
