Obamacare Follies - Part IV
Once again, President Obama is amending and changing law. At one time (and according to the U.S. Constitution) U.S. Congress made and amended laws. No more. President, or rather should I say, King Obama has decreed employers with 50 to 99 full-time workers won't have to comply with the law's requirement to provide insurance or pay a fee until 2016. So, once again, Obama is delaying the health insurance mandate set forth as law by Congress and signed by the King himself. This is, in effect, staying the insurance requirements due to the disastrous roll-out of Obamacare. It's also in response to the Congressional Budget Office devastating news that nearly 2.5 million jobs could be lost due to Obamacare over the next ten years. The Obama administration is still reeling from that report.
Conservative critics have long argued that Obamacare is a jobs killer. The independent report from the CBO augmented that position with such conservatives as Senator Ted Cruz and Senator Rand Paul. So, to deflect the bad news, Obama again has stepped on the U.S. Constitution in his attempt to do as he wishes. The fact of the matter is that Obamacare is now law. The president does not have the authority to change or amend law. No matter what BS the Obama administration puts up to say they do have the authority, they do not have that kind of power. What amazes me is how tacitly Democrats go along with this in the Senate and House. In fact, I can say the same of Republicans as well. Why don't they have Obama in court over this? This is the 15th change in Obamacare by King Obama.
It's sad that America has to even be forced to buy insurance that the majority don't even want. How many people lost their insurance to take a more expensive insurance plan with less coverage? How does this help the uninsured for which Obamacare was ultimately planned? Or allegedly planned, I should say. Obamacare was never about healthcare. I'll say it until the day I die, Obamacare is about power. King Obama's latest decree changing a law on the books is yet another example of this power grab. If the Republicans don't take Obama to court over this latest outrage, this latest violation of law, what else can the King do? Declare himself dictator for life? That might be next on the agenda.
