Democrats Trying to Destroy U.S. Military

Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel plans to shrink the United States Army to its smallest force since before the World War II buildup and eliminate an entire class of Air Force attack jets in a new spending proposal that officials describe as the first Pentagon budget to aggressively push the military off the war footing adopted after the terror attacks of 2001. 
Secretary Hagel acknowledged the military he envisions will be capable of defeating any adversary, but too small for protracted foreign occupations.  Republicans immediately attacked the plan.  "It's going to be Congress' job to step in and move those numbers up," Republican Rep. Michael Turner of Ohio, a member of the House Armed Services Committee, said on Bloomberg TV.  "The world is not getting to be a safer place. This is not the time for us to begin to retreat, and certainly not the time to cut our military,"   Obama Administration officials stated that the military would have the money to remain the most capable in the world and that Mr. Hagel’s proposals have the endorsement of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.  There was no word from the Obama Administration on cuts to entitlement programs.

I wish I could say this shocks me.  But, it doesn't shock me at all.  Democrats have a long history of attempting to dismantle our military.  During the Carter Administration, there were times when U.S. ships could not put out to sea because of a lack of manpower and/or ships not being seaworthy.  Bill Clinton recommended cuts in troop level not seen since the Korean War.  Democrats are all about saving money as long it is not in their sacred cow programs of welfare, food stamps and other such entitlement programs.  The Democrats mantra of "less is more" doesn't exactly mesh with the realities of today's world.  We have China threatening our navy in the South China Sea.  President Putin of Russia is making more aggressive waves to put Russia on the map as a legitimate superpower to counteract the USA military.  Al Qaeda is not on the run as our esteemed President has said they were.  Islamic fundamentalists still view the USA as the "Great Satan."  These threats are not going away any time soon.  Democrats still believe appeasement will work despite failed attemps of the past ( Neville Chamberlain with Hitler being but one).  Islamic fundamentalists respect only one thing; strength.  The same holds true with China and Russia.  A strong USA is a deterrent to war.  A weak USA is an open invitation by the Chinas and Russias of the world to spread themselves into defenseless countries.  It is a shame, after all these years since WWII, the Democrats have yet to understand these cold hard facts.  If we are faced with a two front war, how do we fight it?  We will have no choice but to use nuclear weapons.  Then, ladies and gentlemen, you have WWIII.

If these cuts are enforced on our military, then I predict the USA will be in a war for survival.  It may not be against China, it may not be against Russia.  Then again, a weak USA is something that both those despotic countries cannot overlook.  The Republican Party must, once again, do everything in their power to stop the Democrats and their Progressive wing, from forcing the USA to do the unthinkable someday; ask for terms of surrender.
