Obamacare Follies - Part II
News Item: Almost 80 million with employer healthcare plans could be canceled.
Heretofore, it had been individual health insurance plans that were susceptible to the tentacles of Obamacare. As many as 5 million have lost their individual health insurance plans since Obamacare was rolled out. But, now, employer and group health insurance plans are in the cross-hairs of Obamacare. Stan Veuger of the American Enterprise Institute said that in addition to the individual cancellations, "at least half the people on employer plans would by 2014 start losing plans as well."
There are approximately 157 million employer health care policy holders. Here's another little revelation; According to projections the administration itself issued back in July 2010, it was clear officials knew the impact of ObamaCare three years ago. The estimate was that by the end of 2014, 76 percent of small group plans would be cancelled, along with 55 percent of large employer plans. The reason so many plans are being canceled is due to these policies not meeting Obamacare requirements such as maternity care for men and acupuncture.
Is there any doubt now that the Obama Administration knew full well the effects of what their Socialist health care plan would do? Is there anyone left who does not see this was planned from the get-go? Obama and his cronies knew back in 2010 what would happen to the private healthcare insurance market. They knew that Obamacare would drive the private health insurance companies completely out of business. The plan then and now, is a single-payer plan. They are fully prepared for the slings and arrows coming their way in order to get to their goal of a single-payer system. The Progressives are the primary force behind this government takeover of private citizens healthcare. How could you not know, if private insurance plans don't meet minimum Obamacare requirements, the plans would be canceled? Why wasn't the warning put out in 2010 about this? It's true that Obamacare will be the cross that Democrats will bear in the midterm elections and thereafter. If Americans are forced to take plans that are not as good as they had and then also have higher deductibles and less coverage, someone will pay for that politically. It appears Democrats are prepared to weather that storm regardless of the ramifications from the voting public. But, what I want to know is why didn't the Republicans sound the battle cry of what could happen when privater insurers didn't meet Obamacare minimum requirements? They also will have to answer this and other questions.
