Stupid Political Quotes

About the only people I consider more dumb than Washington D.C. politicians are Hollywood "celebrities."  Both are so far detached from reality, they seem to live in an alternative universe.  They sure as hell don't live in the world where most of us do.  Both are known for doing and saying stupid things.  But, since this is a political blog, we'll stick to stupid politicians.  Some that you will see below are "purportedly" said by our politicians.  I have no way of proving it.  Some I am quite familiar.  Others I am not, but don't doubt they were said.  Now, there are lots of dumb people in all walks of life.  But, you would think our politicians could be held to a higher standard.  I guess it just doesn't work that way. Let's take a look at a select few.

“Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we.”  -- President George W. Bush, August 5th, 2004.   This might be the only time in history that a sitting U.S. president admitted that the federal government is determined to destroy America.  At least George was honest about it.  Our current occupant of the Oval Office is doing all he can to destroy this country.  He just won't admit it.

“Outside of the killings, DC has one of the lowest crime rates in the country.”  -- 
Former mayor of Washington, D.C. Marion Barry  You could write an entire book on the despicable nature of Marion Barry.  But, it's best to let his own quotes do the work.  This quote is similar to saying outside of President Lincoln's assassination, it was a pretty good play. 

“But we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it, away from the fog of the controversy.”--Nancy Pelosi, alleged congresswoman from California.   This has to be my all time favorite.  To this day, I doubt she understands the stupidity of her own statement.  This is like looking at a roast beef sandwich that has been sitting on the kitchen table for about 3 days.  You ask, is it ok to eat this?  You'll have to eat it to find out.  Well, we are now finding out about Obamacare.  We are all dying from food poisoning as a result.

“When the president does it, that means that it is not illegal.”--Richard M. Nixon to David Frost.  You would have thought that Nixon would have discovered he was not above the law as president.  I guess he never did.

“When the stock market crashed, Franklin D. Roosevelt got on the television and didn’t just talk about the, you know, the princes of greed. He said, ‘Look, here’s what happened.’”--Vice-President Joe Biden, in an interview with Katie Couric.  Crazy Joe is referring to the stock market crash of 1929.  FDR didn't take office until 1933.  Plus, the only TVs available during this time were in what passed for scientific labs at the time.  And this guy wants to be president?

 “It had to do with Cuba and missiles, I’m pretty sure.”--
White House Press Secretary Dana Perino, admitting she had never heard of the Cuban Missile Crisis, October 26th, 2007  Dana Perino is one of my favorite political analysts on TV.  But, sometimes, blondes just can't help themselves.  The blondness in them has to come out.  She said later it happened before she was born.  Well, the American Revolution happened before my time also.  But, I know about it. 

Yeah, there is enough stupidity in both Republicans and Democrats to go around the earth several times.
